The Trade: Houston Rockets acquire RJ Barrett, Frank Ntilikina, the No. 8 pick in the 2020 draft and the No. 27 pick in the 2020 draft for Russell Westbrook. Link - ( New Window )
and have people wondering in a few years how he fell out of the top five. Blazing speed, passes the ball well with both hands, can shoot and is active on defense. I'd be fine with it. Apparently Phoenix has interviewed him a couple of times already. If he lands there at 10 I may become a Suns fan - that team would be fun to watch.
Completely speculation but my gut says the Knicks look into trading up for Ball, have Ball and Hayes off the board by the time they pick and end up taking Lewis.
I have wanted Lewis from the start. I was on Jonathan Macri's podcast awhile ago and mentioned Lewis and teams sleeping on him. He is very good. He has some Damian Lilliard in him. He should be the pick, if he is there. The buzz is building on him.
Athletically and physique wise, he reminds me of Kenny Anderson.
Grant Riller was a dynamic scorer at Charleston and may have an offensive game that transfers well to the NBA, Schmitz writes. He averaged more than 21 PPG as a senior and had the highest player efficiency rating among college guards. Riller said he has been studying Thunder guard Dennis Schroder. “I think we share a lot of qualities,” he said. “A quick guard that gets downhill, can score at all three levels, is good in the pick-and-roll. Pretty savvy defender. More importantly, he plays both guard spots.”
but id make that harden trade. Its basically RJ, #8 and two mid (at best) to late firsts. That would be a steal for us. We keep our own picks, along with the clips pick this year and Mitch. Plus we shed Randle. We would have Harden and Mitch and a ton of space. I get that Harden is getting up there and there arent a lot of high end FA's to add with him this year, but there are next year.

Sources: The Lakers have requested a career-ending injury application to have Luol Deng’s salary removed from team books. Deng agreed to buyout with Lakers in 2018, retired last October and is owed salary through 2022.
Can't believe there's this much talk about clickbait

Obviously, you make that trade. But sheesh, I do not enjoy watching him play basketball.
“It doesn’t mean the Knicks will pick him if he falls to No. 8 in the NBA Draft, but Killian Hayes currently has a narrow edge as the team’s second point guard on the board after LaMelo Ball,”
The Knicks had gone into last season with an eye on drafting a point guard of the future but they are not stuck on that idea since president Leon Rose took charge in March. For instance, if forward Obi Toppin falls to No. 8, they certainly would pounce. Small forward Isaac Okoro also has intrigue.

I really like Hayes. I can't tell if he's going to be a good defensive player yet and I don't have a good feel for his athleticism because the league he is in is not strong. But he does a lot of other stuff really well.
on Hayes. I still have Ball #1 because if everything breaks right he's a potential superstar PG given his size, passing, vision etc but his defense is lacking, his defensive effort is lacking and his shot needs work. Hayes isn't a monster athlete but he knows his limitations, very high IQ, quirky game (in part because he's lefty). He lets the game come to him. Shot has improved, first step has improved and he's stronger than before. I said back in March I had it Ball then Hayes and I still feel that way. Link - ( New Window )

reportedly willing to listen regarding anyone but Leonard. If the Knicks insist on adding some older players as mentors/culture changers I'll take Patrick Beverley

I've advocated 8 for 14 and 26 for weeks.
Yeah, it's not IF Boston makes a trade, but with whom.
will make a big run at Joe Harris (paraphrasing). The Nets have his Bird rights so they'll probably keep him at all costs, but he might be my #1 free agent target. Would love to add him.
for Pat Bev. Perfect for a team looking to develop a defensive identity and almost a near-lock you can get back a 1st for him at the deadline from a contender.
For #8. I want a chance for an impact player. If, however, the knicks have 5-6 guys rated evenly then yes you pull the trigger. Not something I do until we see who is on the board. Boston also has tons of other selections so if they want a player bad enough you could probably get another pick.
He is not and it’s a good thing he isn’t. He’d be the first overall pick no questions asked. He and Bates are the best teenage prospects in a few years.

Odds of an impact player at 8 in this draft are very low and the players in the 8-15 range are all going to be roughly the same level of talent/upside.
1) Trades like the Celtics/Knick proposal almost always involve team A drafting at their own slot and then trading said player to team B. If somehow a player slid to 8 that the Knicks loved they would call off the trade.
2) The Celtics aren't giving up a third pick to move up to 8. Completely unrealistic.
Boston was 14,26, 30, & 47. I’m just saying we might be able to improve some of our selections as Boston can’t draft 4 players (with their current roster). Maybe #30 comes for #38? Maybe they throw in #47.

No. The Celtics are not trading 14, 26, 30 and 47 for the 8th pick in a weak draft. That's a ridiculous bounty to move up 6 spots. Go look up how many trades teams have given up 3 first-round picks to move up and how many involve moving up that late.
seems to indicate he's here for the long haul and not a trade chip as some have suggested. Begley doesn't think Hampton falls to 27, nor do I. I see him going 15-22 range.

why would the Lakers do that?

send #38 to the Lakers for Caruso.

To create cap space. Caruso makes 2.75 million and will be a UFA
Huh? I have no strong feelings about Caruso.

show this to Greg, but if Caruso were dealt to OKC I wouldn't mind giving them a call.

I posted an article earlier in the year that suggested Caruso was extremely underrated thanks to the little stuff he did and you weren't happy lol

how does clearing $2.75 million help them at all? If they want to clear room they need guys like Danny Green, KCP, and others off their cap.

KCP is already opting out per all recent reports.

If trade back to 14 and Lewis is gone, i am going RJ Hampton, he could end up being a steal.
