ALCS was really root for nobody for me, knowing I will root against either in the World Series.
I saw an article yesterday trying to talk up the Astros claiming that nobody on their current roster was implicated in the cheating scandal. I didn't read further, but it really burns me. How do you write that? Just because they weren't punished or even publicly addressed by MLB doesn't mean that is true. No active players, whether still on the Astros or moved on, has been punished, but plenty were impolicated. And their 2 biggest stars in Altuve and Correa were always at the core of the scandal.
go with the dog in such matchups. Rays are a good dog. But even though, as a Yanks fan, I usually despise the Dodgers, I wouldn't mind seeing Kershaw win one. I don't have a horse in this one.
in the world series. Probably the two smartest organizations in baseball too. It rarely works out that way and surprising to see it happen in a year with 16 playoff teams.
I'm too young to really remember the 88 NLCS, so I'd like to see the Dodgers get over the hump and finally win it this year.
Brother-in-law’s brother works for the Rays. He’s been with them since the team was founded. I’m a Cincinnati Reds fan so I have a strong dislike of the Dodgers since they were our NL West rivals back in the day. I do believe that the Dodgers will win the series, however.
It is actually surreal that somebody would root for the Dodgers, IMV.
I don't like the Rays, I just hate the Dodgers. Basically they are less annoying than what is left.
I don't agree, but there are some people who will root strictly for the team representing the league of their favorite team. As a Yankee fan, more often than not, I felt the opposite because the AL team was a rival. As a kid, I couldn't root for the hated Royals, for example. In 1986, I rooted for neither team. It was the first time as a real fan that I skipped a WS game. Was it Game 6 on Monday night? I watched the Giants and Skins instead.
When I became a Yankees fan, the Dodgers were still in Brooklyn so I like their history. And I had friends back then that were Dodgers fans so I am cheering for them. I don't know any Rays fans.
I think many of us were ready to root for the Braves.
I hate Astros so I’m glad they are out, but don’t really have any warm and fuzzy feelings for Tampa either. I agree with many here, it would be nice to see Kershaw exorcize his WS demons....he’s a nice guy, but it is tough to root for a team that spends so much money to buy a WS. I usually go for underdogs when I don’t have a dog in the race.
After saying all that, I still don’t know who to root for besides Kershaw. I’m not a Bellinger fan.....he usually chokes too in the big dance.

Altuve was wearing a buzzer! If he wasn't cheating, I'm fucking Heidi Klum.
LOL

Would have been Braves, but....
F the Dodgers!
Asterisk anyways
Only solace is that, if the Rays win, Hal may read Cashman the riot act, though I doubt it.
You can’t help but be impressed with what they’ve done, but sure as hell don’t have to like them.
Asterisk anyways
There you go, actually I was pulling for Freddie Freeman
to win a ring...one of the real good guys in baseball!
Love to see Kershaw get a ring, and now that Mookie is no longer a BoSox, he's one of my favorite players in the league.
