way to attack that defense is out. They are pretty soft up front. They fly around the football, but if you have a line that can maul they'll be in trouble.
saw a professional "qwataback" when he saw Allen play so he could have experienced "full bloom love".
Instead...
Cmon you know as well as I do people would be calling for his head right now. I've been a big believer in Allen. I would have loved coming out of that draft with him or Mayfield (for the record didn't have an issue with Barkley either and would have been fine with Nelson as well) but if he played on this Giants team for those two years his turnover level wouldnt be much better than DJ's. The guy is the heart attack machine, but as he gets more experience the good is outweighing the bad. What puzzle me about DJ is that he seems so cognizant of the turnovers that he isn't making as many big plays and lots of hesitation. I'd rather DJ let it rip and blossom into what we see from Allen.
but you have to take shots on Mahomes even if it costs you a penalty or two or three. He's absolutely made for this new NFL - great arm, great touch, great improviser, and is a better runner than you think...
His ability to make plays in crucial situation is otherworldy.
Dude is going to win multiple MVPs & Super Bowls. And he seems like a good dude so I don't care. Also, I have no beef towards the Chiefs. Good fan base.
is it about the NFL that you basically need an edict of law to get them to measure anything anymore. We were talking about that yesterday on how they wouldn't even respot the ball after the Allen lunge and measure. They just move the chains automatically.
Killed us against the Panthers two years ago right before the Gano 63 yarder
But he was on the mark about Mahomes. Too bad he wasn’t the GM.
He's the last coach to get us to the playoffs and McAdoo saw the future - Pat Mahomes.
Unfortunately, he could convince the bigger goofs in the room that trading for him was worth the stretch.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs saw what McAdoo saw and acted appropriately. And now they have the best QB on the planet, a SB, and in a great position to compete for SBs for the next decade...
But, hey, we got Evan Engram in that draft, so we are set for the next decade at TE.
Agree that McAdoo was right about Mahomes. But again, is Mahomes Mahomes if he's a Giant? He's got a great offensive mind in Reid, a ton of weapons, & a competent FO. We have none of those.

I don't discount those factors, but I also think Mahomes is such a unique talent that he would be great wherever he landed. Let's be honest, you can't teach those skills.
He's the last coach to get us to playoffs because he was gifted
an all pro defense in an overspend by the GM was his ass on the coals. Sure that produced results for a year, but is a big reason we found ourselves where we are. Robbed Peter to pay Paul.
of McAdoo wanting Mahomes is so strong that less than a decade from now, we'll hear bw tell us that McAdoo resigned in anger over his demands to draft Mahomes going unheeded.
But it wouldn't be the first wildly exaggerated scenario made up by him

We find ourselves where we are at this point because Dave Gettleman is a massive failure. The statute of limitations for blaming Jerry Reese for everything is past.

I'm not saying he hasn't been, but to act like that isn't part of the problem is being disingenuous. Contracts are 4-5 years long. Whatever the guy did before you until year 5 has bearing on that current team.
Dallas sure has a horseshoe up their ass this year

LOL this is so true.

I am amazed at people still defending Gettleman. He is a disaster.

Look, McAdoo is an easy target. I get it.
But someone has to get credit for our last playoff year. And he was smart enough to know Eli was done and we needed to look to the future (i.e. Mahomes).
Unfortunately for McAdoo, he paid the ultimate price for those truths because no one above him wanted to hear them.

McAdoo rode a high priced defensive shopping spree and a career year from Beckham (until the playoffs) to 11 wins. He did a decent job that year. He also completely changed by year 2, proved himself to be a total clown and subsequently oversaw a locker room revolt/meltdown.
He was probably slightly better than Shurmur (that aint saying much) but much more of a douche.
His Patrick Mahomes "wisdom" hasn't lead to any other significant job since we canned him.

How was I defending DG? He hasn't done a good job. He hasn't even doine a mediocre job more than likely. People are so one side or the other on things. If you think I'm someone that DG has done an acceptable job you are out your mind.

While in the same decade, we’ll also hear from you that the only other option available to DG other than Barkley was Sam Darnold.

I had to bench him on my fantasy team.
