and I could see why he's been in the hunt for a few jobs.
Mayock was in a similar situation and I think he's been very good in Las Vegas. And very underrated.
So it's hard to say how someone is actually going to perform in the heat of the moment when the clock is ticking on your on the deck to select...
Reddick is a draft hype guy. He was big on Simmons, big on Haskins, Rosen, Hassan Reddick (sp?), I think also N'Keal Harry. Dont get me wrong, I was high on Reddick, but I dont have the access he does and his calls are largely off.
Mayock is a different story. He is not often wrong about finding football players. Yes Ferrell was a reach, but he is much more intuitive than Riddick.

If we are going to go with a celebrity tv scout then I would be 10x more comfortable with Jeremiah than Riddick.
Howie Roseman, who has basically been beating the Giants brains in, talent-wise, for over the last 10 years . Maybe there is somebody better . Maybe Riddick is a Matt Millen in waiting . But I’d take him over Gettleman in an instant .
What are the Giants going to do? Probably try to extract more talent from the already thinned out ranks of the Chiefs and Patriots . Those mines only have so much ore . And spear-heading this endeavor will probably be Accorsi and his committed of one . I dread the process as well as the result .
He says back -up QB is a top 30 spot ob a roster . Where do you think he cane up with that ? Do you agree ? It’s not like the concept in novel but it is indicative of the training he’s already received . I’m not necessarily rooting for him but he should be under consideration , if he’s interested .
are the same ones clamoring for the Giants to lose every week and get the #1 overall pick. With scouting opinions like his on Haskins, the #1 pick would be certainly in play.
RE: my guess is the same people wishing for Louis Riddick

... would have the same outlook as Riddick the commentator. Riddick the GM would look at a lot more film and do a lot heavier scouting and realize Haskins doesn't have it. He would've probably picked Rosen though.

My thoughts as well. I don't believe much of what's said regarding draft prospects, they aren't going to shit on them nationally - its a bad look and nothing is gained from doing it.
No preference on Riddick either way, but his comments on Haskins don't mean much to me.
Riddick called Haskins the best QB in the draft. It wasn't just that Riddick liked him. He thought he was better than Kyler Murray even. I could do without Riddick. Link - ( New Window )
I've only started paying any attention to this guys since he was part of the GM search. In that time, he has basically been wrong on everything he has said.
multiple mistakes in each of the MNF games he's broadcasted.
Exactly what part of that goes to the idea that he's a great communicator??
Well, in the case of each of these "mistakes", you caught what he was enunciating and were able to comprehend him, correctly, sir or ma'am fatperson...?
If so that makes him an effective communicator. So effective in fact, that you are still able to grasp his message, even when he is wrong!

I rest my case.... 😉
He communicated so well, that well you know, you were able to understand he was wrong. Excellent comms.
That's sound decision making.
P.S. Reddick isnt that good an analyst either.

I remember that very clearly as well.

I dont even know how anyone is drawing conclusions that he is a great communicator. Is it because he can speak well?
Well, we might have had Mahomes.
This is the only thing I agree with in either of your posts.
This.
Your guess would be wrong mongo.

The Giants could stand to benefit from a similar approach to rebuilding.
