#Cowboys players initially bought into keeping things internal. Now as they sit 2-4 the discontent is leaking out. On the coaching staff “totally unprepared. They don’t teach. They don’t have any sense of adjusting on the fly.” Another “they just aren’t good at their jobs”
One can only hope somewhere Aaron Rodgers is smiling
I don't think he was great, but I also never thought Mike McCarthy was great either. Glad neither of them became our head coach, that's for sure.
more frustrating than their implosion continuing on the heels of playing us, is that for some reason officials have had some brutal calls against them that have cost them games - and yet for some reason their game against us was the exception where 2 TD's came off the board.
Yeah, that was weird. He put a bullseye on his back by admitting he lied to Jones about watching every Dallas down last season. I guess he has his guaranteed money.
I'm not sure I agree that their defense is the lesser extent. It is brutal, and is on track to be the worst in NFL history. They gave up 7.5 yds per carry last night! AZ didn't even play particularly well, and won by 4 TD's.
That said, they still might win the division.
Giants should be 2-4, with a shot to get to 3-4 Thursday night.
They should be 0-6, Atlanta win was gift wrapped too
Now this is the one I really really really want to be right about. And full disclosure, I plan on screaming this daily around here and proudly pounding my chest if this McCarthy tenure here spirals into gloriously awful, lengthy, and painful ruin.
I don't think Garrett's a great coach either, but get the sense he works hard at it regardless.
That's my take too. Garrett probably isn't great but he's not bad and there's a big difference between the two. Garrett was consistent in Dallas. He got the most out of some important players.

Mike McCarthy says 'didn't coach very well' in the Cowboys' loss Monday. His players reportedly agree - ( New Window )
True dat.
You can be a bad coach and win for a year with someone else’s players, ala McAdoo. When you coach one team for 10 years, you can’t get away with that. Garrett may not have been the best HC but he wasn’t the worst or even close to being bad.
I agree.
I am also think McCarthy was not a good hire. The story posted by the OP was not a surprise given his history. And remember, after he left GB, they won 6 more games the following year. I think the Cowboys traded down with respect to coaching.
Which means they are giving up on Dak and that will never happen.
Kellen Moore has actually been somewhat disappointing, although I think he'd be more successful outside of Dallas.

Or Fields.

I see the Jets getting T Lawrence, then the Cowboys getting Darnold for a third rounder. A fraction of Dak's salary, then can get a few DB's or whatever else they need for the same Dak money.
Cowboys are going to have to rebuild their OL in the draft with a high pick. Smith can’t stay on the field for an entire season.
Their secondary is a complete mess and the DL has totally underperformed.
QB won’t be their top priority in the draft.
Or did we already implode?
And he's not elevating the play of that team. He'd be no better than Dalton, especially with their OL the way it is
Well, Andy Reid's SB ring probably is flipping you off on its own
100%
Cowboys and Eagles dominant OLs are both getting older and more banged up. Both have questions at QB (unfortunate for Dak due to injury).
Washington FT is still owned by Danny boy.
Giants have a path. If, as you say, they can get their act together
+1. I've never been a fan of his.
Or did we already implode?
One team was thought of as a Super a Bowl contender and the other was a contender for the first pick in the draft. Congratulations on the Cowboys pulling out a last second win after having two TDS overturned on very questionable calls.
Besides that, the implosion that is referred to is the blowback after last night and players starting to chirp. So I’m not sure why you think the Giants have anything to do with that. Though I’m not surprised this is the angle you decided to jump on this thread and take...

Jimmy Googs is gonna Jimmy Googs. It is sad that a grown man has so little life that he has to post the same deriding shot about a football team he CLAIMS to like. Same thing every day and on every thread.
I mean, the guy shows up days after Googs was banned, tells posters what a good and bad look is for them, follows UGA football, and falls right in lockstep with the same group he was with before being banned.
But - he said differently!!
Eric
What is your deal with with Garrett?
Using your logic, does that mean that McAdoo was not a bad coach because Shurmur was a bad coach?
They were both bad coaches and McCarthy is crap coach too depending how view coaches.
I didn't want McCarthy anywhere near the Giants and could not have been happier that he went to Dallas. Its a perfect marriage for him and Jerry Jones to destroy that team for years to come.
McCarthy cant do crap with out a specific breed of QB. McAdoo was the same way here, the only way he was going to be successful was if got a mobile QB he wanted. He was not a good enough to overcome not having a very specific tool. He got so desperate he even went as far as benching a HOF Quarterback for Geno freaking Smith.
I know you recognize me as a fan who is not a big fan of Garrett as our OC but you making that kind of logical relationship is very odd. This does bring into light why you don't understand my point of view.
Some coaches are better head coaches then they are coordinators, some are way better coordinators than they are head coaches. The best coaches are the ones who are able to adapt their ideals with the roster they have available.
Just so are clear of my beliefs - I am not anti-garrett, I just think he is not right guy based on what I seen so far.
I like Judge and Partrick Graham so far, both of which I think have made choices that can be disagreed with as much as Jason Garrett if a fan so feels. Its still really early in the season. With DJ I think the jury is still out on him as well but I'm probably more pro-DJ than I am anti-DJ right now. I just think that Garrett may not have been the greatest marriage for DJ although not as bad McAdoo was for Eli.
You can think I am "idiot" (your words) but when your team is bad I don't think there is anything or anyone is safe from criticism. I think you have some of our complaints bundles together as fans. Like its the same fans that are picking everything apart on the Giants collectively. Ultimately, I hope the Giants turn this around, and I'm happy Mcarthy is there to ruin Dallas. So I hope your right with being Pro-Garrett and hope he is great, that is just someone I am not confident in right now.
And he's not elevating the play of that team. He'd be no better than Dalton, especially with their OL the way it is
Darnold moves much better than Dalton and has a much better arm. Right now, Dalton is playing with inferior talent with NYJ but I think he does have a confidence problem...

This guy really got under your skin. Though I imagine a lot posters bother you.
I would check for googs to be a different dupe that thinks you’re a dink. That should narrow it down to about a hundred guys to check.
The only thing sadder about getting banned and returning is denying something everyone knows.
I think you’re going to find the only commonality is it appears we both think you’re act like a jackass.

Jerry brings Garrett back next year.
Never happen now. I see Garrett as OC next year and then once we have a successful season and offense he'll find another HC job. I see him staying two years.
Ow does McCarthy sucking make Garrett a good coach? The way this offense is scoring points and gaining yards, why would you hope he's back next year? If the Giants finish with 2-3 wins averaging the yards and points they are now, he should be shown the door right behind DG.
I live in Dallas, there wasn't anyone here who wasn't happy Garrett was fired, just unhappy it didn't happen years earlier. His teams way underperformed. Did you miss the game against the Eagles last year? Eagles had everyone hurt and beat the Cowgirls to make the playoffs.
