J. Chase / C. Basham

Might be a no-no to some to talk draft so early, but I'm bored at work so screw ya...

I have not seen Ja'Marr Chase play. Is he really all that? Many places ranking him around #3 in Rd 1, which is right where I expect us to pick, and lord knows we need WRs (yes, multiple in this draft). Not real tall (6'0") but impressively solid at 208.

Carlos Basham -- Feel bad considering I'm an alum, but, I just know nothing. All that? WFU not exactly grinding out top NFLers (looking at you, Aaron Curry). 285 pounds on the edge sounds great though. Conceivable could drop to us at top of 2nd. (Hope his name is pronounced 'Bash-em.')
Boogie Basham probably will play 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT

I don't think he's much of an EDGE guy.

Chase is the best WR in college football, but I don't want to take one in the top-10. Plenty of good ones to be had on Day 2 and possibly even Day 3.
Chase

has elite hands and catch radius, but isn't the most athletic or big WR. He does everything really well. I'd take him in the top 15.

Guys like Devonta Smith and Rashod Bateman a bit more than Chase. Smith is a top tier route runner with legit speed and Rashod Bateman has great size and YAC ability while also being a good route runner.
I'm on board with Terrace Marshall Jr. out of LSU in Round 2/3

When Chase opted out, Marshall was the de facto #1 guy and he's done nothing but run with the opportunity. Can't wait to see him against Joe Horn's son on Saturday. Jaycee Horn absolutely shut down Seth Williams last Saturday.

Jaycee Horn is a guy I have on the Giants radar. Kid can flat out ball and he’s a good, physical, man-to-man CB that isn’t afraid to mix it up in the run game.

Agreed. His fellow Gamecock CB, Israel Mukwamu (still don't know how to spell his name), is also excellent.
Give me Jalen Wadle from Bama

Tyreek Hill type talent that can stretch the field and that defenses always have to respect. He'll run in the 4.2s.

I second this all the way, Terrace Marshall Jr will be a got damn stud in the NFL, I want him in blue in the worst way. Love DeVonta Smith too, he’s easily the best route runner in the class and is clutch as hell catching the pigskin. There are others out there like: Jonathan Adams Ark St., Sage Surratt Wake Forest, Rondale Moore Purdue, Tylan Wallace Ok St, Tamarrion Terry Fl St., Amon-Ra St. Brown USC, TuTu Atwell Louisville, Chris Olave Ohio St. etc. this draft is plenty deep with talent like last year’s draft, but if I had to choose give me Terrace Marshall Jr

He's a freak and has made some incredible catches this year - not just a speed guy.
Waddle - 134 yds 2 TDs vs Mizzou - ( New Window )
I want nothing to do with a WR on our first pick

QB (if Jones doesn't improve), pass Rusher, OL, CB, trade down. WR isn't a good idea with all our other holes

I'd go WR outside of round 1. We need an edge rusher foremost.
J Chase is gonna be great

Incredible balance and coordination. To me he just jumps off the screen as a potential star.
We are ruining our young Qb

Jets style because he has 1 guy to throw the ball to and that guy isn’t a #1 receiver. Get a true #1 receiver. Opposite slay and hopefully Shepard can stay healthy and Barkley comes back 100% and we have an offense
I like the 2 Bama WRs this year better than the 2 Bama WRs last year

Waddle and D.Smith. I liked Chase a lot but he hasn’t played this year, I would love Waddle in this offense, the kid reminds me of OBJ at LSU but when it boils down it would to be hard for me to pass on OL until I know that’s fixed... otherwise, like we wasted OBJ, we are going to waste Barkley and any other skills player we draft high until that OL area is fixed once and for all.
Never too early

To talk draft, if that s what you re interested in, it s part of being a fan.

I don’t get interested in it until after the season. , but enjoy hearing from people who follow college football better than I do.
There is a lot of top WR talent in this class as well
beatrixkiddo : 10/21/2020 11:06 am : link
Might be on par with last year. We can grab a stud with our 2nd pick, I’m sure if it. Marshall Jr at 2 would be amazing, looks like the perfect compliment to what this offense is lacking and would pair well with Slayton and Shepard.

I really like Parsons as well, and think he’s the type of player that could really make our Defense a force moving forward. Surtain would be nice too, need another CB unless someone shows they can be a long term boundary CB alongside Bradberry (maybe Holmes?). This team needs an edge player to develop bad, can’t get all these guys in the draft FA will be interesting. Hope Dupree shakes loose, that’s a guy I’d lock up and would be perfect here.
as an aside
santacruzom : 10/21/2020 12:26 pm : link
is there surprise first round buzz on Mac Jones like there was with Joe Burrow this time last year? When I watch Waddle highlights, I'm pretty damn impressed by Jones.
