It’s 72 degrees, sunny, just a touch of wind, and you’re on the 1st tee with your three favorite people to golf with. Where you playing? (Ok to name a few, but you have to have already played there):
3. Ballybunion (Old) — beautiful seaside links, (delicious Guinness afterwards)
2. Pennard — quirky old links twisting around castle ruins in Wales — fun, empty, not as touristy as some others
1. Prairie Dunes — my favorite course, windswept old Maxwell 1930s design near Wichita, KS. Unpretentious and pure.

Laying the heavy lumber, nice.
I think you mean the white witch. Its named after the white witch of Rose Hall which is very nearby. Great golf course though. I loved every hole.
I played the Earth course at Jumeirah recently and that's a blast.
Dunes course in Cabo is quite something too.
Amen to that.
Ocean course is obviously great
Yeamans Hall in Hanahan is fantastic
Rounding out the top 5 would be Ko’Olau on Oahu
Pretty amazing, I can consider myself pretty lucky to have played some great places .... and have only played a handful of the courses on either thread.

Old Quarry Golf Course: Curaçao, played there on my honeymoon, absolutely beautiful. Weirdest grass ever, almost like playing on Astro turf, but the scenery and beauty was so stunning and so surreal. I was so enamored by the beauty of the course and landscapes it really distracted me from my gameplay, but it is certainly a course I’d love to revisit some day. Amazing.
Garden City Mens Golf Club
Balybunion - Cashen Course terrible weather, but that was the fun of the challenge. Felt like they didn’t change the land to much, just go play the elements as they are.
Balyowen - Loved that Jersey course someone mentioned above. They played bagpipes in the late afternoon and I beat my buddies. Which is always nice. Tough golf course.
Hudson National - Somehow felt it was underrated. #4 Every hole is breathtaking.
Pebble - Greens were so tough, but top 3.
Ocean Course - My personal favorite just a great day. #1 Beautiful setting, super challenging, but fair.
Winged Foot - Prolly number 2. Great sight lines and can feel the history there.
Westchester - Maybe just outside my top 5, but great piece of land. Tons of variety of holes.
New Haven - Great layout, huge awesome greens. On the list but not in the top 3.
Chambers Bay - Tee to green so much fun, so much elevation change, tough walk for sure. Once the get they get the greens sorted, it would move way up the list. Just bumpy for such a good layout.
Rankings are tough, but these are some of the one’s I loved.
Caves Valley is fantastic.
