I thought the tipped pass and drop in the 4th quarter were awful plays but the play that really convinced me Engram is a loser was the attempted hurdle. He had to get 4-5 yards to get the first down. A smart player makes a move, probably to the right, away from the second defender coming in fast, and hopes to break the tackle and fight his way to the first down market.
Instead, our resident brain surgeon, a guy with legendary football instincts, decides to hurdle the defender, a move that has a near zero chance of making the first down. (And it was dangerous for Engram, too.)
Then after this colossal lack of instinctiveness on a play that Failed (failed!) you see this fool snickering on the sideline. Loser.
amazing and true
I turned off the show during the opening line where Boomer was saying that the pass wasn't perfect and needed to be a little bit easier for Engram. Can't stomach listening to that much bullshit to start a morning.
37 Should be carrying DGs bags as all 3 leave the building
Little over thrown?!?
Pass me that fucking pipe, perfect pass to seal a huge win.
Unreal
Agree. He's untradeable. All his shit from 4 years is on film.
If Engram runs his route at the correct depth, it's no penalty, and probably a first down (he was tackled short on 3rd and 3 anyway).
I'm so annoyed this morning.

Typical of engram - he runs the route at the first down line. Gets called back but its just another example of what a putz he is.
I'd rather have Donnell, who once caught a last second touchdown to beat the 49ers. Engram would have dropped it.
Engram is almost certainly not the answer long term but if you want to know what you have in Jones before the next draft (and that jury is still very much out) you simply cannot take away every weapon--even one as inconsistent a Engram. Go ahead and fire away all you want but in a season going nowhere--again--jettisoning players particularly when their value is low is just not very smart--which means it is exactly the move the Giants will probably make.
When you see his burst on the route where he dropped the ball, he stacked the CB really well, I mean, I want to see that vs LBs all day long.
Off the top of my head, Remember the 4th and G route he screwed up. The drop on the opening drive vs. the Steelers. Fumbling the pitch on the opening drive vs. the Cowboys. Ruining the Eagles game.
Just off the top. You can't let this guy around the team anymore.

doesn't he?
amazing and true
Makes me miss Bob Tucker and Mark Bavaro
He should be benched - or demoted - and put on the market. He's be a waste of money to invest a 5th year in. Someone would surely be interested in trying to turn him around.
Engram set the tone of the first drive vesus Pitt. Either had a drop or penalty, then in the endzone had zero feel how to find open space at the goal line on a pass from Jones.
He should have snatched that ball out of the air last night.
I'd have to say Donnell made bigger plays.........

Are always weirdly optimistic about the Giants. I don’t know if it’s because the Fan is the flagship or what. But this morning it was all about what a great guy Engram is, how he’s the type of guy you want on your team, pass was a little overthrown etc

It wasn't perfect. But NFL receivers are supposed to catch that ball.
Little riled is expected. Hell, a LOT riled is warranted Let's not be completely insane.
It was a little overthrown anyway. And he made some plays last night.

He could have gotten there if he didn't try an inside cutback at the beginning of the route.

The best part was that the refs let it go until the third time he did it. Then they had to throw the flag. Of course McAdoo didn't seem too upset at the time about it.
I immediately had concerns for the young man's mental capacity.
He's simply not a NFL player. Never was, never will be.
It was a little overthrown anyway. And he made some plays last night.
Dude - in that situation with game on the line YOU HAVE TO CATCH THAT BALL.He did not extend to make that catch because he is a LOOZER .

Bullshit. That ball was on the money. What plays? Who cares? his 2 gaffes caused an INT and the end of the game for the Iggles.
He doesn't have the skills. He has lousy hands and he isn't quick enough to get separation. All he really has is straight line speed.
Versus San Franciso, Sunday night in 2015 maybe? Game winner with the clock running out.
Your video shows garbage time with game lost. Zero pressure.
Last night was a pressure situation...........
Those hands should be stones
