There seems to be a lot of love for coach Judge and this is even after a heartbreaking loss to the hated Iggles and a record that includes only one win all season. The Giants aren’t winning and there doesn’t seem to be much improvement by any Giants players but there are posters here, good football posters, that are enthusiastic about the Judge. I admit, watching the game last night, before folding down the stretch, I was thinking that Judge and the Giants were finally finding the point from which to build up. But, a loss is a loss and the Giants are still one of the worst teams in the league.
Meanwhile, down in Carolina, Matt Rhule and his Panthers are 3-3. This team, like the Giants, lost their most talented offensive player to a HAS. They had to deal with an entirely new coaching staff and covid - two things which a lot of people point to in excusing Judges lack of winning games. I think Carolina returned 5 starters. So they really are in full rebuild mode. And, at least from here in NY it looks like the Panthers are far ahead of whatever kind of rebuild the Giants might be doing with Judge.
Wondering what was different, I did a Google and found the article linked below. What jumps out at me is that Rhule seemed to have brought in a coaching staff he worked with previously. Not sure this happened with Judge or even how many on Rhules staff worked together previously. But obviously Judge and Garrett never worked together. Also, the Panthers went all defense on their draft which seems to indicate a completely different philosophy in rebuilding. Don’t know the rest of the story with the Panthers draft or their GM philosophy.
I’m not trying to bash the Judge here. Also not trying to shine up Rhule because I just have not watched the Panthers enough to know how they’re winning and losing. But I thought it might be interesting to compare the two new head coaches to try and gauge the progress each has made. Based on the results so far it seems like the Giants still have a lot to wonder about Judge. Rhule on the other hand seems to be doing exactly what everyone thought he’d be doing - only more quickly - he seems to be building a winner.
Any other thoughts on why things seem to be turning around for Carolina while we’re still spinning our wheels in mud here in New York?

Not to demean Coach Rhule, but he is not here and he chose not to be here.
This.
Plus what’s the pt. Judge is here
For all the losing, the Giants Defense has been actually pretty good this year. That's mindblowing given the roster turn over and resources the Giants devoted to defense. Patrick Graham is getting done with sorcery and it looks like Gettlemen crushed free-agency (Martinez, Bradbury, Fackrell and even Leonard Williams all look like good-to-excellent signings right now).
Special Teams have been solid and we've seen several nifty trick plays (the Engram non-TD hurts, but it was a great design).
The offense has been what's killed them - you can't win if you turn the ball over a lot and don't score. But even the offense is showing signs of life in the last two games.
I'm not saying the Giants are good. And it's super disappointing that the offense is such a crap-fest given the resources the Giants have deployed on that side of the ball. But we all kind of knew the Giants would suck this year -- so the outcome was pre-determined. It's just the method of suck that's a bit surprising.
I would suggest that if we swapped the offensive lines between the two teams... then the records would also be swapped.
Meanwhile the Offense features two tackles who are not very good at this point and a center who is new to the position. And Slayton is the only "skills position" player on the O that would probably start on most teams.
You can't blame Judge and the coaches for not making chicken salad out of chicken shit. A chef is only as good as his ingredients.

And yet, whenever the other team decides it needs to hit the gas, these guys can't stop shit- and that includes a WFT led by a scrub qb and a former wideout at running back and an Eagles offense missing every starting skill player but the qb.
Brady is next to bolt for a HC job if they perform with more W's.

the fuck are you talking about that he played the giants? he didn't play them at all. talk about changing history to fit the facts that you want to be true
Garrett is one of the biggest issues with this team right now.

I tend to agree here. Going into the season I thought Garrett was a good choice because he had so much experience. Now, not so sure that’s a plus.
Where the Giants are 1-6 and not making plays or getting breaks, Carolina is 3-3 with some fortuitous breaks. Let's see what their record is at the end.
Not sure only a few games is helpful in comparing & contrasting Rhule vs Judge though, and having that come to some clear conclusion.
But again, good for Panthers on a decent start.
