It’s time to move on and start building for next year, I don’t care if they are within distance of winning the division. Pull Judge aside and ask him who he wants to be the next GM...
What is the role of the GM during the season? The reason why I ask is what is the benefit of firing DG now? I would think that the best time to fire is when you are sure is his replacement. If that is not lined up it would look like a knee jerk reaction.
The team has a history of keeping employees longer then they should so it is really not in their DNA to fire mid season. Maybe they already inform3d DG that he will either retire of be let go at the end of the year. Fans are looking for blood but that is not the character of this team. Oh by the way it is one of the characteristics that I have always admired with this team since I started rooting for them in the 1960’s.
So for the chess players out there the upper management of the team should know how it all plays out before making any moves. That is except getting rid of Engram. Sorry I had to put that in there.
If Dalton does not make the best throw of the year for him and if Engram holds on to an easy catch we would be on a three game winning streak and people would be saying how great team we have. Fate is fickle

If "ifs" & "buts" were candy & nuts, then everyday would be Christmas.

Barely losing is still losing. These Philly and Dallas teams aren't very good.
after this season with the NYG. That could be a good thing,
depends on who they hire? Giving the job to their capologist in Kevin Abrams, would not excite me at least.
Newsflash: Gettleman will RETIRE after this season
The Giants PR/company line will be that Gettleman has had a long and successful career and it is time to hang it up and spend time with the family etc etc etc.....
before he does more damage to this franchise. They need to accumulate as many picks as possible for expiring contracts, etc. We are in a terrible draft capital position right now which is Exhibit 76 of Gettleman's GM incompetence.
If Gentleman executes a trade before the deadline...
where he acquires a player for another 2020 pick - so we're down to only four - that is a clear sign Gentlemen is back in 2021. And Mara still has a high trust level.
So the trade deadline is a critical next date for the future of this dying organization...
I am in agreement that front office changes need to be made
but can we also but a little blame on the Coach(es) evaluation of the roster? They had to have input as to carrying FOUR TE's and ONLY FOUR WR's correct? THEY felt Downs was better than Connell. I am by no means claiming Connelly is a HOFer after 4 games but as a back up at least drop off wouldn't be as steep as it is to Mayo and Downs. They haven't had Gallman involved until now. They continue to use EE in crucial spots. Some on here are ready to throw DG under the bus and JJ the keys. You HAVE to have a review of the player personnel department this year (again).
I also have a real problem with that fact that the Giants will miss any major opportunity to recoup any draft picks for the upcoming year due to the fact that DG is either coming back, or is a lame duck GM.
Their only hope is to fire him now - and some interim (NOT FUTURE GM) within the organization gets rid of the players they have now and sets the table for the next guy.
But it won't happen - that now the Jints Central Way :)

Other side is, if Riverboat Ron doesn't go for two we are either tied or just as likely winless. It seems we are not good enough to even beat the crappy teams on our own.
DG will be the GM till years end, you can be sure of that. They are not firing another GM in less then 4 years. With that said, I think they may ask him to retire at the end of the year to save face. He might ask for one more year to finish what he started, but would ownership allow that?

Because after every loss it’s more imperative to start building for next year, especially with a new coach. But like you said and stayed above Mara is a SHIT owner and it’s not the “Giants way” to fire him mid season even though he single handily set the franchise back a couple years.
I have the answer - go away. Pick another team and go away. Because Mara isn't going and many of the rest of us are getting tired of the same thing everyday.
Its not his way to fire a person so early in the season. Classy man, just would prefer he hired a good football front office staff, and kind of take a step in a different direction .....
are really getting tired. I dont know what people expected this year.
It’s certainly painful at times, and Gettleman might not be here when we’re good again, but I’m enjoying watching the team get the pieces put in place.

And yet, somehow, we're 10-29 under Gettleman's leadership.
Fate may be fickle, but it's not stronger than reality.

You're right - Gettleman will not be here when we're good again, because we won't be good again while Gettleman is here.
He is in the problem column, not the solution column.
He and Mara talked about how he needed to up his free agency scorecard - Martinez, Fackrell, Bradberry, Logan Ryan, Austin Johnson, Gano
Had a decent draft - Thomas will settle down and be a very good player. McKinney, Peart, Lemiuex, Holmes, Brown, Crowder, Caughlin
If he stays that will be the stuff on the other side of the scale. and Barkley and I think Jones is the real deal. (although many disagree on the latter)
You can get a very good idea of who might be interested in the job and who others think are up and comings. This can happen all while you still have a GM.

exactly this. he should be gone now so they can start their search now.
