For perspective, this equals more than 10.3 yards / sec which is close to world class. Link - ( New Window )
He was actually pulling away from Philly DBs before he blew out a tire. That bodes well for building around his speed for rollouts etc too (i.e away from Andrew Thomas).
I'm not sure if you have similar experience as I, but...
My son (the 6 year old) sprinting looks a bit like Daniel Jones stumbling...always waiting for him to faceplant.
Exactly lol. I’ll go one further. When my son was 13 he was on a pretty competitive soccer team, and had a penalty kick to win a big tourney. I was obviously biting my nails. The kid sprints up to kick it, plants, slips, nearly whiffs it, and face plants. We still laugh about his Charlie Brown moment.
I thought after that run that its almost poetically similar to his
Performance during games. He starts out and your aren't sure how its going to go, then he does some amazing stuff, then he stumbles and throws a pick or fumbles. I'm hoping that in the next three games he can put together a complete game without a turnover, because when he does that people will start comparing him to Jackson, mahomes and watson. You saw pieces of it last night; the TD pass wot Shep, the pass he dropped perfectly in to old Alligator arms, the running plays. I was PISSED at him for the fumble at the end of the game and still think if he's moving up in the pocket he's got to be concious of how he's holding the ball.
and I'm happy to at least see some play designs featuring his athleticism.
I really do wish Jones could clean up the turnovers, he has solid potential. I don't ever think he'll be a top 5 QB but you can absolutely win with him.

I'm extremely underwhelmed by Garrett but that's one thing he does better than Shurmur. Use his athleticism.
I thought Jones' run was one of the - what, funniest? most amazing? - plays by a QB I've ever seen. He left the whole Philly secondary in the dust for 80 yards, and those guys are all close to world-class fast, then he falls down - as pointed out - like a little kid. I was laughing out loud even though the game was in the balance at that point. I mean, who does that?
the kind of weird shit that happens to the Giants vs. the Eagles.......EVERY GAME.
This is no different than Eli fumbling on a slide when nobody touched him (twice). Or the phantom OPI on Barden. The blown 19-3 lead. The DeSean Jackson meltdown.
he kinda looked back or side glance to the defender and I think that is why he fell.
Team picked him up and they scored. Would have been even better if the Giants won. But, they stayed true to their worst in the NFL form and lost.
hahaha

But unfortunately his upper body was going 21.3 mph
hahaha
I have the same problem ... at 6 mph.

Hilarious. I burst out laughing at that one.

I'm convinced there is something else at play.
If you only knew the truth about him...
