We didn't play some lights out football but good enough to win and having Shepard make big catches was a big reason for it. You could see the difference. He's no star WR, but he makes a difference for this team.
he was clutch and if they had thrown to him instead of Engram we would have won. I was wrong about Shepard and with him we don't need a WR, but I think he's probably our most valuable/tradeable asset right now and we need some draft picks.
If we had a stud #1
I don’t know if j. Chase warrants a top 10 pick if we are picking in top 8
Not with our holes
If they want to go wr route, trade into mid 1st and pick up 2nd
Maybe fill in a wr, cb and Er with those 3 picks. Double up on one position 8s fine with me
Probably need multiple of all 3
DG should’ve trade down and then draft OT
Don’t like his draft moves. He gets a conviction on players and doesn’t trade out. Unfortunately those players may not be worth draft slot
Thomas, baker, heck even saquon
I'm not arguing he's a star, but he has god quickness, good hands, and he knows where to be. He just has to stay healthy. A team with Sterling Shepard as its 3rd best WR has a pretty damn good passing attack.
But yeah, he looks like an all pro given what we've seen this year.
made a "difference" simply because he is a competent, average receiver.
He's not more than that.
He ran good routes and caught the ball. That makes him a good option at WR. He’s not a game breaker, but he’s a competent receiver which Jones has been missing, with exception of Slayton, of course. Additionally, I saw quite a few circumstances last night where he was actually open with separation, thereby making DJs throws a bit easier as well.

exactly. We have three targets, shep, slayton, and occasionally Tate, who display basic competence. Jones has a shocking lack of weapons. Really hope that this group stays healthy all year. Without shep, they were hands down the worst WR/TE group. When all healthy they eke up into the middle of the bottom third. Jones is going to be hard pressed to grow with zero talent at the receiver position. Really hope that he gets 9 more games with a full set that actually qualifies as NFL receivers, even bad ones.
miserable. Shepard would be killing it with Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes...Guy runs great routes. He is where he is supposed to be. He rarely drops a ball. No he is not a burner. But he is a reliable piece that can be counted on. Steve Smith pre-knee is his best comparison and who would not take Steve Smith right now.
No he is not a 1 or a 2, but just a good slot receiver. Teams need players like Shepard. They move the chains. They get open in the red zone. They block downfield.
He's not more than that.
Just gets hurt so much you feel bad for him

Right, and that's a positive. Even with a competent average receiver Jones looked better.

Spot on. He's not a starter on a better team, but we're desperate.

He's a poor man's Ike Hilliard

Not rhe same player at all. But I guess size-wise they were.

I can't believe some of the blind homer posts on here. C'mon stop with the blind homerism.
The one that we don't need a WR because we have Shep was a real good one.
Maybe they can get Golliday in the off season in FA
