Army-Navy to be played at West Point for first time since

Del Shofner : 10/24/2020 10:48 am
World War II. In 1942, Navy hosted, and in 1943 Army hosted.

The protocols in Philly didn't allow the attendance of the midshipmen and cadets, who will apparently be the only fans there.

I've become somewhat of an Army football fan over my years in the Hudson Valley - they're the local team, and they are good. Their only loss was to Cincinnati who's ranked 9th or 10th depending on which poll. Army may win out from here. They were briefly in the top 25 but I think that was before some of the big-name teams said they were playing this season.

Army is fun to watch. While they pass occasionally, the triple option is their bread and butter, and they run it very well.

I went to the Army-Air Force game at Michie Stadium in 2012 and it was a great atmosphere. It will be 10 times that for Navy.
Love it and I am an Army Retiree and Vet

Who has rooted for Army for many years. This is going to be pretty cool! Went to Michie Stadium last year for an Army vs Tulane homecoming game. It was such an awesome time. It’s a fabulous stadium in a equally fabulous location on the Hudson!
Ah, home

Ran many a track meet there and a few baseball games in the day. Go Army!
Awesome experience

Went there as a guest of a tailgate party. The view from the bluffs over looking the bends in the Hudson was breathtaking.
Never forget it. The game wasn't bad either.
EPIC Rollie Stichweh vs Roger Staubach

Chad Pennington was the qb. 2 long TD's, really transcendent talent on display that day.

It might be 65 and sunny, it might be 35 and rainy, but most likely mid 40s and grey.... In any case Michie stadium is a great place to watch a football game, with the ghosts of Grant, Lee, Custer, Patton and others all in attendance. As both Doug McA and Gregory Peck both said, the last 3 memories will be of the Corps, the Corps and the Corps. Go Army! Beat Navy!
It's the best college game going.

tells me that there are some new Covid cases there over the weekend...puts game possibly at risk

Best wishes to your son, and hope COVID's presence is as minimal as possible at West Point, for everyone's health. Would be a shame if the game doesn't happen but safety first.

Meanwhile, on the field, #9 Cincinnati crushed #16 SMU yesterday ... Army's only loss was to Cincy and Army played them much closer than SMU. Really think Army should be nationally ranked even if it's low 20s.

hey, someone's listening!

Army ranked #25 in the coaches' poll, woo-hoo!

Still unranked on AP.

Pardon my enthusiasm, but with the Giants stinking it up again this year it's nice that the local college football team is good... and it's Army, so there's that.
