was the first time I heard the media criticize the Cowboys' roster. Dave Wannstedt and Colin Cowherd agreed they have been fooling themselves about being a contender.

Where was this before the season. The biggest issue for them is the awful coaching staff, oline injuries, and DLaw looking completely disinterested. His contract is going to make Solders look like a bargain.
I think that the reason that the Giants took Andrew Thomas so early was that he was the most NFL ready OT of the 4 OTs and Becton was the least. Watching Becton today, he is playing far better than Thomas is playing which is not saying much. But, Thomas does not look NFL ready in the least and Becton, aside from being the size of a mountain, looks like he belongs.
And Gettleman is supposed to be an OL guru type,
Charles Davis and whoever he’s paired with are fucking awful
But Bechton does look dominant. We need to evaluate after a year or two though. Injuries were always the concern. I think most scouts thought he would be dominant if healthy.
With Watson's contract essentially impossible to trade, right?
They don’t have a good team, really not Watson’s fault. The defense is awful and without Hopkins they don’t have any playmakers on offense. Sucks for them in 2020 but a top 5 pick will get them a premier player or a haul in a trade back. The next GM + HC is walking into a great situation.

Can’t scout OL for 10 years, then get the Thomas over Becton selection wrong.
Posts lile this are fucking idiotic. The entire league had Thomas as the most pro ready Tackle coming out witha minority thinking Wills was. Thomas had better combine than Wills, didnt get hurt like Becton did. Thomas is having a bad start to his career. I seem to remember Trent Williams stuggling as a rookie too.

Dak has been out two weeks and is still leading NFL in QB stats.
Joking, right? Cowboys can pay Dak $40M when he has not won a playoff game or pick a 21 year old kid who's the best QB prospect in a long time and will be cheap for 5 years. Easy choice.
How about those Cowboys!!!! LOL
Dak is the heart of that team.
Hopefully Dak has a full recovery and gets paid by Cowboys
Is Zeke making business decisions already?

Scouts didn’t select him.
He needs to go too. But the common denominator over the last decade has been the scouts and evaluators of these guys coming out of college. The Giants have picked a bunch of guys at various points in the draft and they’ve been shit. They’ve also passed on plenty of studs. It’s obvious whomever or whatever they’re using to evaluate OL isn’t working.
... lacks the change of direction and slipperiness of the top pass rushers. He has straight line burst but falls for ball fakes and has difficulty recovering when overrunning plays. I know he’s had hip and groin injuries, maybe that’s part of it.

No, I do know what Im talking about. When the draft came around, most everybody had the Giants drafting Thomas as he was the closest to plug and play. Wills had size concerns as well as concerns about flipping to the left side. Becton was too much of a wild card due to his being very raw, came from a system heavily slanted to the run. Wirfs was projected by many as an all pro Guard and was strictly viewed as either that or RT at best.
YOU don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Becton was great shoving college players around, but was constantly off balance and then could not recover as the DE went past him after initial contact. Difference was at Louisville the ball was out of the QBs hand quickly.
Powerful, absolutely. Quick feet, yes. But watch him bend at the waist and almost topple forward.
I don't want either team to be in a position to draft Trevor Lawrence. And while I have no doubt that Jimma' would take Lawrence in a nanosecond if he had the chance, I don't think Dallas will end up with the #1 selection.
That if the Giants actually weren't complete useless losers, they could've had a chance at this division. Haha. Pathetic. Engram cut or ... jettisoned from a plane yet?
the Jets get Lawrence, somebody might give them a #2 for Darnold. Teams are desperate for QBs. I could see somebody taking a chance on him for a relatively low investment. It's just that it would be ironic considering that Jets fans thought they had finally found their QB in Darnold.
throw by Ben, but yeah, he's won two SB, is a HOF QB, and is playing a 5 - 0 team on the road. He's playing with house money at this point in his career.

Two rings buys you nothing when you make a rookie error. A 16 year vet should know better to not force a ball like that when he had a crossing pattern wide open that may have got the 1st down and at worst got them a try for 3 points.
And yes Jones deserves the criticism but Ben deserves it more.

Why does everyone think TL is going to solve all of the Jets problems? Is he going to play defense, coach, play special teams block catch and run too? They're not losing games specifically because of Darnold

Take the FG and go up by 6. I appreciate being aggressive but you just made this an easily tileable game the would have been twice as difficult if you take the FG
And while the Bills have better talent than the Giants (who doesn't?) let's not act as if they're the '80s Niners or anything on offense. A lot of their success rests on Allen's physical gifts.
But acting shocked and outraged that an unproven second year QB gets more flak for it than a future HOFer is silly.
Bullshit. A 2X SB champ and 16 year vet absolutely knows better than to throw that kind of pass with a FG in hand at 2 minutes..you have your reasoning backward. The 2nd year player should get more leeway - and yet he should know as well. Anyway IMHO

Who is saying Trevor Lawrence would solve all of the Jets problems?
Took a break from football today. Just checked highlights and saw the hit on Dalton. I am a little upset that no Dallas players tried to kick Bostic's ass. If I was a Dallas fan I would have wanted my players to risk also getting ejected because they all went after Bostic.
I took the Bills in my survivor pool so not today. Go Bills. I’ll root for the Jets another day.
& we got Andrew Thomas so...(shrugs).
And Bengals.
Jets up 3-0
Jets up 3-0
I just saw the one, he recovered nicely from it. But it is amazing, he just puts guys on the ground.
The Jets got Darnold, Benton and Denzel Mims and Perriman back
This has all the makings of a classic already

how else are you suppose to tackle a guy?
Yeah terrible call, the DB is like half the size of Stafford too. textbook tackle, ridiculous.
how else are you suppose to tackle a guy?
I don't mind as it got me a Swift TD. Had lost a Conner TD earlier due to penalty.
And Gettleman is supposed to be an OL guru type,
yeah and OBJ left the field with an injury while making the tackle on that play. My fantasy team is going to get smoked again this weekend
Jets
Yep. Steelers look impressive and the receivers catch the ball.
Quote:
14-0. Titans have run just 3 plays. Their defense cannot stop 3rd down plays. Sounds familiar

Steelers might be aSB favorite, along with Chiefs.
In fairness to Tenn there's nothing familiar about them and the Giants other than them both being in the NFL. :)
Yep. He has Big Ben's presence in the pocket. So hard to bring him down
Josh Allen is an oak tree
Quote:
Yikes, dude is strong.

Yeah for sure. Even knowing he can do that it was still a eye opening display.
And then he loses the handle...
Scouts?
OBJ's didn't look bad but he has been ruled out for the game.
Giants had him for a while
They don’t have a good team, really not Watson’s fault. The defense is awful and without Hopkins they don’t have any playmakers on offense. Sucks for them in 2020 but a top 5 pick will get them a premier player or a haul in a trade back. The next GM + HC is walking into a great situation.

They're better than us, so we'll have the edge record-wise :)

McCarthy should be sending his game checks to Rodgers.

Brutal looking hit.
That was bad. He got hit in the front of the head and then his head slammed back on the turf.
If that wasn’t an ejection-able hit I don’t know what is. The nfl should come down hard

The pride of James Madison.
That would legit suck ass if he was able to unload some ridiculous salaries like Elliot or Cooper
Nolan was a horrific hire. I have no idea why McCarthy chose him. They aren't going to win another game at this point.
Yeah that guy should get another game suspension for that. And he argued the flag. Not sure what he was thinking. You have to know that’s wrong.
Maybe his career. I'm totally convinced coaches still teach these tactics to hit with the helmet.
What are we in the 4th or 5th year of this huge emphasis on safe play? But we still see it every week. And almost every game...
Time to start fining these DCs and HCs to really change the culture...
I can't think of a bigger bunch of losers than the pussies we got on our team. I think I hate these guys more than the 2017 team.
NFW. Gano is worth keeping.
How about call Dallas and see if they will give a 2nd Rounder for Colt McCoy
Yeah, I hope the Jets don't get Lawrence.
In other news, imagine what it must be like for Darnold. He knows that. It is poetic for him in this regard.

is awful. I know it's unlikely, but what if they ended up with the #1 pick and of course took Lawrence? The whole board would meltdown.

Winning a game puts you out of reach to get Lawrence.

Yeah, Atlanta was a killer.

The Falcons have lost three games this season where they had a 95% win probability or higher.
I don't believe DET had any TOs.
