Really shows how important a good pass catching TE means to an offense. Some day maybe the Giants will have one

Very good point. Look at the league and TE is now a major factor. We have an athlete not a TE. Look around the league and most teams have 1 bigger WR and 1 undersized chain mover. We have three very similar WR's in Slayton, Sheppard and Tate. We need a jump ball, body guy and a quick underneath guy to get those crucial 3rd downs.

Please stop. You are making too much sense. Mara asked his front office the other day if it was still 1959

Kind of amazing to watch after all these years. So far, Tom is doing a lot better without Bill than Bill is doing without Tom.

Bill and Brady were a magic combo.. it will be hard for either to win a SB without the other.

Great scheme, great play calling, great coach.

A total understanding by Shanahan that RBs are everywhere if you know how to properly evaluate them. Chip off the old block...

It comes down to identity. Since 2012, John Mara has let it erode to the point where the only attribute is losing.

when you realize what we spent for a position that requires 5 other guys (at a min) to provide any real chance of success. Now he will be coming off injury and we still are working on that line.

You would think it wouldn't take a genius to make a serviceable offensive line in three seasons of work.

I'm just sick of people saying covid is the reason why this team is a war crime on offense and Jones looks lost because of 'no offseason'.

was no way to know in 2019 whether the Giants could or would have drafted Herbert in 2020. We obviously didn't know what our draft position would be in 2020, and Herbert could have been hurt or had a lousy season in 2019. That doesn't mean we should have drafted Jones at #6. (I wanted to trade #37 for Rosen.) But it does mean that the reasons for not doing so can't include wanting to wait to draft Herbert in 2020.

Remember also that the Giants preferred Herbert to Jones. The irony is that Herbert might not have been available at #6 if he had entered the 2019 draft.

Herbert is also playing with a lot more talent than Jones.
Is Bill Belichick a system coach?

I’m happy to see Brady prove he can do it without Bill. It’s ridiculous how many times over the years I’ve read on this site that Bill made Brady. Brady carried some extremely weak offensive casts for years, now he’s killing it with that talented group in Tampa. 43 years old and throwing absolute dimes today. Bucs look very good, if Brown is still Brown then that offense will be scary.

Too much to ask when the Chiefs are in the division and the Raiders are doing well. Right now though that draft pick is vindicated.

Herbert is more talented at this stage than Jones. He's more accurate, has better awareness, plays with great rhythm , and he is physically imposing.

Come on man. Brady joined a team with likely the best defense in the NFL and weapons all over the place on offense. Oh and just in case that’s not enough, let’s add Antonio Brown!

I’m sure Bill would do ok with THAT team, no? Brady picked the best possible destination, and rightfully so, but which team did you think would be better this season? Brady has a damn Pro Bowl roster.

I’m being slightly facetious
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 10/25/2020 7:50 pm : link
But the amount of credit Brady received with the Pats has generally been less than he deserves on this site. Bill is the best coach ever but people made it seem like Brady was replaceable and Bill was by far the main reason for their success. I’ve just always found that to be bullshit since so much their success had to do with Brady carrying untalented offensive units over the years. Just glad to see Brady do well on his own.
