How would you compare the Giants to the other 1-6 teams?

Sean : 10/25/2020 8:06 pm
I always forget that the Texans do not own their 1st round pick in 2021, that is absolutely brutal. Imagine the Giants now with no first round pick to look forward to?

NYJ: 0-7 - they have a decision to make with Darnold after the year assuming they get the #1 pick. I still think Darnold can play, Pittsburgh could be a great fit for him. They’ll obviously have a new coach.

ATL: 1-6 - I don’t know what the cap implications of Matt Ryan are, but they’ll have to decide if they want to retool around him. New GM & HC on the horizon, but they are in a very tough division.

HOU: 1-6 - Bill O’Brien the GM ultimately ended Bill O’Brien the coach. As I mentioned above, giving up what will most likely be a top 10 pick is a tough pill to swallow. I’d think with Watson locked up, this is a desirable job for a GM/HC combo. I’d expect this team to bounce back quickly, they’ve had a brutal schedule.

JAX: 1-6 - Minshew has come back down to reality. I have no idea about their GM/HC situation in terms of job security. Marrone seems like a decent coach, just not much to talk about with this team.

are just as bad as the other 1-6 teams.

Darnold is turning into a bust. Greg Cosell has observed that while Darnold still impresses with great second reaction plays he still has awful lower body mechanics and screws up fundamental plays that an NFL QB needs to make about 100% of the time. These are things QBs learn in high school. When is he going to come around? Time is running out for him.
Insane to think that if a couple of breaks went

our way, we'd be in first place in a pitiful division.
I'd throw the Patriots in there too

They are horrible.
The Falcons are bad

But they’ve just had a unique year with all the crazy losses they’ve had.
Why don't we compare

Sadly, I’m somewhat envious of the Jets.

That’s how far we’ve fallen. Becton looks like a franchise LT and they have the inside track on Lawrence - two guys who will be more valuable than anyone on our roster. They also have a ton of money and a surplus of picks. Like the Knicks, you have to see it to believe it, but the table is set for them.

Once they get rid of Gase, they won't have any idiots in the room. We have meddling owners.

Yeah, right...you know that, right? The Giants owners meddle and Jets owners don't.

They are the damn owners - they have input - all owners have input. You think someone with a $4 billion corporation doesn't have input? Does Hal Steinbrenner have input into how the Yankees run? You think Steve Cohen will stay quiet on the Mets. I suppose Jerry Jones says nothing to his son?
Worst teams in the NFL as of week 7....
GMen72 : 10/25/2020 9:17 pm : link
32. NYJ
31. COWGIRLS
30. NYG
29. MIAMI
28. JAX
27. WASH

Those are the only teams we have a shot of beating. ATL and Houston can score 20+ points...so, that's a loss.

Darnold is to quarterbacks like Engram is to tight ends.
The Falcons will likely keep Matt Ryan through next season
cosmicj : 10/26/2020 6:43 am : link
And let him move on before 2022. Letting him go after this season would be painful from a cap perspective. If they really like Trey Lance, they are in the right spot to draft him and have him sit fir a year, which is probably desirable given his lack of experience.
Good or bad

I think they are the only team that you can remotely say has their QB and coach of the future.

Does that mean a whole lot? Not really.
