I am wondering if he needed a couple of months to get further back. Although you can play after 1 year, I was told it actually takes the ACL itself 24 months to fully heal. He might be a bit more explosive then he was in camp with extra time to heal. I also wonder if this means Golden Tate is going to get moved for a low pick. I don't think he gives you much more than Coleman at this point in his career and he is a lot more expensive. Sheer came in and they got a deal for Marcus Golden ......I am wondering if this is a similar situation.
No, he hasn't, but we should put things in perspective. He's coming off being shot, his friend was killed and he's coming from a small school in Washburn.
looks like the backup plan since DG's apparent deal to get Golladay thankfully didn't happen. This is where we are as a team. We're resigning a WR we cut who nobody has picked up going into week eight, and even though Shepard has returned. I assume they'll make room for him by putting Board on IR.
No real reason behind it. Just rooting for the kid, seemed like he grew up so much and was ready to break out then tore the acl. Get him returning instead of Ballentine!
Coleman and Ballentine (since there is some relation)
Very weird that he is back. You can blame the ACL but supposedly Coleman was showing a lot in camp. I think he can add more than Tate at this time and I'm a lot more confident now with him and a healthy Sheppard as receivers anytime after I learned that Board/Ratley were awful.
As for Ballentine and any young player right now, don't write them off. He did show some promise early last year in camp and then was miscast as a slot. He definitely appears to have regressed on defense but again it is a new system and no 'normal' training camp. He along with most of the other young guys get to compete next year in camp but there has to be a lot of competition brought in at corner.
He has shown absolutely nothing at kick returner though. He looks slow and clumsy not good for a cornerback.

RE: hahahaha....Dave Gettleman going to his nostalgia file
He has really been bad. First a DB, then returns, and last week when he didn't even look up on the potential fake punt. We don't talk about him a lot here, but he really isn't showing anything

Yeah, this is terrible. Shades of the Chase Blackburn signing all over again.
Yeah, never improved at all.
They could've used him opposite Slayton (or filling in for Slayton) these last few weeks.
There must be something up with this dude off the field, because football-wise, he certainly would've appeared to have made it.
Some people look bad, then it clicks.
And then you've got Corey Ballentine, who looked like a steal during his rookie training camp. And then.....nothing.

I call this the "Ramses Barden Effect"
What are you referring to...secret?

Just goes to show you, you can never take a rookie's one way or the other.
Don’t forget Sean Bennett and Jonas Seawright!
