Will Haason Reddick hit FA/Is he a worthwhile target for ER?

adamg : 10/27/2020 8:09 am
AZ didn't pick up his 5th year option, so he's a FA at the end of the year, unless they tag or extend him, right?

He's at 5 sacks this season and has started their last two games with 3 of his sacks coming in those games.

Any chance they still extend him still?

If not, is he a guy we should be looking at in FA to address our pass rush?
Yes

The role Kyler Fackrell plays (especially when Carter/Ximines were here) was a BUCK role in this scheme.

The BUCK role is primarily a guy that plays OLB, outside the tackle and rushes passer but can transition to an ILB role here and there. Reddick has experience at both but he is best used off the edge.

Fackrell is on a one year deal and if NYG wants to be more aggressive with their money at that spot, Reddick may be THE guy in the upcoming FA class.
Thanks Sy

I remember Reddick people pumped up big time as a high ceiling draft pick. It looks like he may have found his role in his fourth season. He also seems like a guy who will perform much better on his second contract. I think he might be the one ER we can get in FA that can project to a #1 ER role in a defense.
I seem to remember

the Giants thought highly of him coming out in 2017.
I think he's a #2 if he realizes his potential

not too many 235 lbers from Temple become legit #1 ERs in the NFL, he's small and struggles with power game.
They have him coming off the edge now

After he failed at every linebacker spot they had him in Arizona. He’s a decent player. I’d be aiming higher than him. He would be a solid depth signing.
