Makes you want to laugh sometimes to stop yourself from crying.
Yes, it was. I would have been fine taking Tunsil, but I can understand why Reese did not. That draft happened shortly after the Will Hill debacle IIRC. The Giants wanted either Floyd or Conklin, but both were gone. The Giants don't trade down, but probably in that instance weren't offered much to do so. I can't remember who else was available.
We got jumped for Conklin or Floyd can't remember which
Not very difficult to see why we are where we are. From 2015-2017 our number 1 picks were Flowers, Apple and Engram. If you go back to 2013 it was Justin Pugh and don't forget Baker in 2019. These picks if they had been the right choices would be a big part of our foundation right now. Instead Only Engram is still on the team and has been a big disappointment,
and was only active for 2 games before suffering a hamstring injury. Bad luck with injuries seems to follow Giants players even after leaving the team.

Let’s not take a sure thing on the OL cuz he smokes. Ridiculous
you can blame John Mara for that.. not our GM. This goes way back and we always heard Reese refer to players as "clean". There was a reason for that...and a directive.
I wish we could surface the draft threads immediately after Apple was selected. I clearly remember saying he could not cover, he had no feel for the position, had horrible footwork, had no ball awareness, and was simply an athlete who was able to "get by" because he was playing on a team that was superior and had others on the field who could mask his deficiencies.
I HAD heard lots of talk about the Giants' first choice being Floyd, followed closely by Conklin. As a result the Bears and the Titans jumped directly over us for both.
Artie Burns... William Jackson...

Jackson has been good when healthy.

Bears jumped in front and grabbed Floyd I believe.

yet another problem with Reese. A ton of leaks in house so everyone always new who our targets were and would jump right in front of us.

Wasn't it Denver who jumped in front of us to grab Conklin?
Maybe about 5% of the board were. Most were glad to see the back of him.
He's long gone before #10 if not for that stunt. And the proof is in the pudding that weed did not derail his career.
Man, our guys suck at this.

Tennessee.
That makes two of us. What an awful pick.
Jerry Reese is worth 110M. Never knew that until today.

With his $15 million I’m sure he’s not worried about cooking
