Golliday over Robinson

CMicks3110 : 10/27/2020 6:48 pm
is there a case to be made that Kenny Golloday is better than ARobinson?

Generally, who would posters want in FA in 2021

I want
Brian in SI : 10/27/2020 6:52 pm : link
Juju. He will 25 next year and Pitt will be tight on the cap.
They're basically the same age
adamg : 10/27/2020 6:56 pm : link
Average the same y/g.

Golladay has been healthier, has less wear, and is a couple inches taller.
Curtis
Brian in SI : 10/27/2020 6:56 pm : link
Samuel wound be my second choice.
Or JuJu or Godwin
Saquads26 : 10/27/2020 6:56 pm : link
...
couldn't go wrong with either one the op mentioned
GiantsFan84 : 10/27/2020 6:58 pm : link
they are both incredible players
Weren't there rumors that Juju is a headcase?
adamg : 10/27/2020 6:59 pm : link
Godwin and Juju are both a couple years younger than the others.
Golladay healthier?
UConn4523 : 10/27/2020 7:04 pm : link
I feel like he’s constantly injured. Want nothing to do with him at a big money contract.

Allen Robinson has the big injury wiping out an entire season but has otherwise been durable iirc.

Yeah. You're right. Both have their injuries.
I hope that the giants sign
Jay on the Island : 10/27/2020 7:09 pm : link
Either Golladay or Will Fuller.
Crazy how many injuries there are in football
adamg : 10/27/2020 7:19 pm : link
none of these guys hasn't missed time
only downside with Golladay is spelling his name
Eric on Li : 10/27/2020 7:25 pm : link
skills wise I agree, he's the best fit.

Fuller is not dependable. Too much porcelain on that body.
Unless we can unload Tate it’s gonna be hard to sign someone
Saquads26 : 10/27/2020 7:45 pm : link
He’s due a good chunk of money along with Shepherd. And with so many quality WR FA’s available it’s gonna be hard to convince someone to take Tate and his salary.
I like Robinson.
mittenedman : 10/27/2020 7:45 pm : link
He reminds me of Amani Toomer.

If they could get a legit #1 WR, Slayton could slide into the #2 spot and Shepard the #3. All the sudden you've got a pretty dangerous WR group.

Agree with this^
A. Rob
Bavaro_the_Mafioso : 10/27/2020 8:38 pm : link
Had the acl a few years back but has been relatively healthy otherwise. Golly always seems nicked up. Give me A. Rob on a 3 or 4 year deal.
Juju's nice but I think Pittsburgh knows Claypool and D.Johnson
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/27/2020 8:41 pm : link
Are better at the outside WR spot.
Golladay
Capt. Don : 10/27/2020 8:45 pm : link
and for me it isnt close.

That said, I expect Detroit to re-sign him.
Golladay
Producer : 10/27/2020 8:51 pm : link
is the better player but ARob is good too.
My friend in Pittsburgh
Capt. Don : 10/27/2020 9:06 pm : link
says that they love Juju on the field but there has been a change in attitude. Prima donna type stuff. AB is still in their short term memory so their threshold for dealing with this type of WR is smaller than most. This is especially true with Claypool and Johnson emerging.
ARob
OC2.0 : 10/27/2020 10:25 pm : link
Hard to tell how good he can be. If he was on even a 1/2 ass O.
It’s not even close
KWALL2 : 10/27/2020 11:35 pm : link
Golladay is much better right now and has more upside going forward. He’s a much tougher cover.

I’d pay Golladay BIG money.

Robinson? No chance.
Golladay might be too 5 WR in talent
armstead98 : 10/27/2020 11:56 pm : link
Robinson is good but nowhere near that.
JuJu and Godwin operate
SimpleMan : 10/28/2020 2:38 am : link
primarily out of the slot. This team needs an outside playmaker, not another slot WR.

Not necessarily. Claypool obviously has stepped up in his rookie season and JuJu will want big money. They also have to pay guys like TJ Watt who is going to get a boatload of a contract.
I'm not sure FA is where I would go for a WR,
Section331 : 10/28/2020 9:26 am : link
but if so, I would lean Golladay since he is younger, but it is fair to point out that Robinson has played with garbage at QB since going to Chicago.

He's not much younger at all.
JuJu is very interesting, but think he's a headcase
JonC : 10/28/2020 9:30 am : link
Golladay or Robinson might be a bit too "old" for when they finally get the roster up to par.
I'd stick with trenches in FA
ryanmkeane : 10/28/2020 9:43 am : link
and draft WR in round 2.
I think many here need to understand
JonC : 10/28/2020 9:46 am : link
we're unlikely to spend a ton of assets or cap space on players 27 or older, it just doesn't match up with the rest of the roster.

Golladay, Robinson, Bud Dupree, Patrick Pederson, etc, raise the talent level but you'd have to address a ton of positions to lift the roster.

It's largely gonna be the draft.

That's music to my ears. Stick with the value signings and hit on some good players in rounds 1-4.

you're kidding with this right? It's going to be hard for the Giants to sign a big ticket FA because of Golden Fucking Tate?

The Giants have SEVEN players making good money, and that includes tate who isn't even making that much and is cuttable.

What is this the minor leagues? Pony the hell up already.
that 7
djm : 10/28/2020 9:58 am : link
also includes Solder and Zietler, also likely done here.

We are paying hardly anyone here.

Reminder, 2010 or so. How many Giants were making a lot of money back then? Off the top of my head I can rattle off 14-15 guys and I got lazy and didn't even think it through, easily 14-15 players and none of them were about to be cut.

now we have maybe 6-7 and 2-3 are about to be cut.

Time to open up the check book there Johnny boy.

I think you're gonna be disappointed.
I'd rather draft a WR, so much talent this year
Jim in Forest Hills : 10/28/2020 10:10 am : link
Spend that money on an ER and the back 7. Don't draft anymore corners DG.

Depends who is available, but I’d absolutely be looking to sign 1 or 2 of those guys mentioned, we can only build so much through the draft. Golladay would be perfect here, no clue how much he will command, but throw him in paired with Slayton and Shep and add another piece in this draft we would have a pretty decent unit. I don’t know if Dupree will shake loose or not but that would be an absolute no brainer. This team lack pass rushers more than anything else. Those two could really help turn this team around as long as they hit on their picks and don’t waste them carelessly. They need DB’s badly, interior OL, And Edge/ Pass Rushers badly. This should be the focus in the draft, but you can’t expect them to hit all categories without spending smartly in FA either. I’m fine with locking in a true #1 WR, Golladay would be perfect. Robinson second for me, stay away from Juju he is a slot guy.

Yeah, you're right. I was looking at yeas in the league, not factoring in the ARob entered the draft as a junior.
No slot WR, at all. We need a #1 outside WR
NYG007 : 10/28/2020 11:37 am : link
We have about 8 slot guys who can produce, its time to get a #1 stud via FA or Draft. Tall, fast and wide catch radius.
No
mdthedream : 10/28/2020 8:29 pm : link
on jujo he has done nothing in that pitt offense that says he is a stud. Way overrated.
