The #Cowboys have informed DT Dontari Poe and CB Daryl Worley they’ll be released if Dallas can’t trade them today, per sources. Big changes continue for Dallas D.
Dontari Poe rates as one of the worst defenders in the league vs the run as well as vs the pass so it makes sense to trade or release him.
You're right.
Poe has been terrible, along with Griffen, as has Worley.
Dallas is not going anywhere this year. The team is doing the right thing and cutting free agent signings that didn't work out. Dallas can now concentrate on developing their bench and draft choices to see what they have for the future.
It's funny how the fanbase is always clamoring for free agents to be signed. Then the team does just that. But when things go wrong, they blame the front office. 20/20 hindsight is a beautiful thing.
they have plenty of firepower in the skill positions but their defense has been atrocious. Getting rid of two players from an atrocious defense should not be unanticipated.
But the Cowboys are the most talented team in the Beast!
The thought of that is scary. They will have a Franchise QB on his rookie contract, could then jettison Dak and use the money Dak would have gotten to sign a few key pieces (then factor in players returning from injury).

This is exactly why they would do this. If they are top 5 in draft order, they might mortgage the future by trading up with the Jets if TL executes the Eli strategy. Not out of the question.
They are already +2 on the Jets and they play the Giants again.
The Boys have 24 mil in cap space right now. I think they believe they can still win the division.

That ship has sailed with their two wins

Oh and McCarthy was a great hire!!!
Or reup Dak.
Honestly I think they are screwed because of the coach.
