Assuming this will be the final year of the Dave Gettleman era is it fair to think a new GM will sell Saquon to the highest bidder and get more draft picks for a rebuild?
I know it sucks but this roster is in need of a lot of talent and the only way that happens is hitting on picks. I think paying Barkley a huge contract after next season is not going to help this franchise long term.
What are we thinking? Have we seen Saquons last game in blue?
As I have said before, if you want to move safeties and linebackers around, better to get some large athletic bodies out there to impose their will and forcibly move them! If you show you can do that with regularity, guess what, opponents will start bringing the safeties up even if you only have a moderately good RB... It's, far more effective than a boom or bust runner like Barkley.
I just remember last year Barkley coming back high ankle sprain early and no one really knew if if he was really still hurt or not. He probably wasn't just playing bad. Just like he continued to play bad this year.
Bingo.

Bingo.
I too agree. He's got that "nice guy force field" surrounding him.

Unfortunately, I agree with this as well. They make decisions with their hearts and not their heads.
Are you replying to me?
What example? I just posted the stats. I mentioned Henry for reference to show somebody who gets far more attention from opposing defenses than does Barkley.
In fact, Barkley has good raw numbers against 8 man fronts for just the reason you suggested. In fact I posted something about that a week or so ago. If Barkley gets past the front, there is nobody who is going to run him down. He has had some very long runs against 8 man fronts. But again he has been boom or bust. Whereas Henry tends to get yards every time. Far more consistent. I also highlighted that that Barkley doesn't run behind the Titan's line. And I pointed out that if you want to be successful running the ball, get guys on the OL to move the defense... The OL is far more critical to an effective run game, and moving the defense around than is a RB. So uhm, it seems you made my point for me.
