FAN has become. During the 90s and early 2000s, I listened religiously. Not that I thought I was getting any great sports insight, but it was entertaining with hosts who were interesting to listen to about sports. As long as Carton is there, I will never turn that dial on again. He is everything that is wrong with sports radio and it has nothing to do with his legal issues.

And many people disagree and will tune in. Ratings will even get better.

It is actually pretty telling that the Morning Show pretty much bounced back ratings wise (I believe) after Boomer and Gio got into a flow. Its almost like a morning sports show with no local market competition (the ESPN Morning Shows from the days of Mike & Mike to whatever that disaster they have now is) is destined to do great ratings. Now Carton has to compete against another local sports show instead of National ESPN Radio garbage.

I started listening to Boomer in the morning after Carton left. Don’t recall all the people they tried out but they had some good ones (Kim Jones was one?) and I like Gio a lot. Then I got into CMB and maybe it’s all the changes couple md with the fact that I’m a Giants and Mets fan who is just about exhausted from hearing the sad recaps and commentary, but I don’t listen to much of any sports talk anymore.
I record Tiki and Tierney and listen a bit and use the Radio.com Rewind for a few minutes of Moose and Maggie on a Monday or Friday and a couple podcasts but that’s about it. I used to have WFAN on either over the air and then Streaming all day long since the late 80s, but clearly it’s all jumped the shark. And the fact that this no-talent felon who stole money from people gets the juicy slot just seals it.

As a retired US History Teacher/Coach of 37years, I really have a strong dislike for Carton. When he was on NJ101,he & his buddy took to doing a daily trashing of teachers, just because. That jackass wouldn't have lasted a day in the classroom or baseball/football fields because his schtick wouldn't go over with kids, they'd see right through it! They would eat him up & spit him out! What was it, those who can't, no, it's not teach, it's DJ & make believe they actually know something, when in reality, they are an idiot!
