O line was also unable to pass block. I expected better, having not watched them before but heard they were well coached and solid. From what I saw, happier with JJ.
Have anything against RHule it just annoys me the over reaction on here and else where to the panthers winning a few games
Hah! I wish I had a few Giants wins to overreact about
Do you really? It was just last year that we (you and others wjo shall not be mentioned more so) were bitching about the team needing to lose more so as to accrue draft capital.
Greg, if Im wrong Im wrong. But I thought you were in the bunch that wanted us to lose to get higher picks as a result of our roster being fucked.

Yeah but new staff, new qb, new scheme, new players, no real offseason for Carolina.
Oh wait, my bad that logic only applies to the Giants.
Except they have offensive playmakers that I wish we had and defensively they have Def rookie of the month Chinn and pass rusher Burns along with rookie Derek Brown - who already is better than Dexter Lawrence ... So there is that.
for Rhule as they do for Judge as far as off season. But I saw an offensive line last night that was far worse than the Giants. My thought during the game was - wow, and we bitch about our line?
Parcells was right, you are what your record says you are.
And I hat to admit it, I was rooting for Atlanta so that got to 2 wins.
Hah! I wish I had a few Giants wins to overreact about
You were very critical of Rhule if I recall, constantly reminding posters of his 1-11 year in Baylor. That record didn’t mean much, Rhule is an excellent program builder.
Stunk in 2019 (started 5-3) but other than that, have been winners with Rivera. They have talent. But they'll need to find a legit QB. Teddy is fine if you're with a strong run game and defense, but he's not gonna get these Panthers a chip.
I think Rhule is ahead of where even his most enthusiastic supporters thought he would be. Losing a division game to a surprisingly under performing Falcons team in a close game doesn’t appear to mean much about Rhule future. The Panthers seem to have a solid rookie HC.
Would the Giants have been better with Rhule? I mean it’s just too soon to say. We don’t know about how Rhule will hold up and we don’t know about how Judge will hold up.
Also, I don’t see many people here on BBI complaining about Judge. We’re all sick of the losing and everything that goes along with the losing. But I think Giants have generally been very optimistic and favorable toward Judge.

No, what I reminded people of was that Rhule didn't raise Temple up out of football oblivion. He built on the foundation laid by Al Golden, who led Temple to their first football success in decades.
I don't think "very critical" is accurate. I just thought his track record was being overblown because people seemed to think that he inherited Temple in the state Golden actually did, the Temple that had losing seasons forever.
That’s not fair at all. Both teams blew the game against Dallas (Giants had 2 TD’s called back). The Giants played the Steelers, Bears & Rams all well. Giants had the Philly game well.
I’m not giving them the benefit of the doubt, but it is annoying when it is used as an excuse for the Falcons.
These are the same people that are quick to say the Skins game should have been a loss. Moving goal posts to support arguments, at least be consistent.

You're talking about different scenarios. When the team is 2-11? Absolutely, wins are utterly meaningless at that point. There is no functional difference between a 2-14 team and a 4-12 team. In the first seven games of the season though? Yes, I want to see wins and a successful season. I don't see any inconsistency with that.
I think both will be successful and each team got the coach correctly
suited for its market ... Rhule’s background and experience at Temple and Baylor play well in the Charlotte area while Judge’s language reflects the tough guy Northeast, and he’s well suited to deal with the NY media.
I know I’m stereotyping but having lived in both NY and the Carolinas, I think it’s appropriate.
Why is it other teams get this benefit of the doubt?
By that logic we could be 4-3. No?
Have you seen the way the Falcons have lost? I believe they have had at least two games where NextGen stats predicted they had 95% or > chance of winning...

Have you seen how the Falcons have lost this season?
The underlying point is the Falcons aren't as bad as their record shows.
Right. I get the tactic after being around here all these years.
Yet, I still find the reaction very off. Like you have to add a qualifier by saying something good about NYG if you say something good about another team.
Since Judge and Rhule are directly competing against each other for wins, every loss Rhule gets is a win for Judge. It's important that we never lose sight of the fact that only one of them was the correct choice, and now we just have to wait for the answer to be unveiled.

Maybe something like...Phil Simms had a really good Super Bowl. By the way, the Falcons aren’t all that bad, they just lost some heartbreakers this year.
bw, you were not a Rhule fan if I recall - he would have been a “Giants Way” hire I remember you saying.
I like Rhule & Judge to this point.
That's all accurate. I wasn't a Rhule guy. Didn't see what the huge attraction was. But I've given him credit so far for the good work he's done in Carolina. That's a very tough division they are competing in
They could easily be 4-4 or 5-3...easily.

Very true

Yup. Big Blue Insecurity at its finest
Well said!

Exactly. I can imagine if the Giants had blown massive leads in every game, the narrative wouldn't be that of a good team. As well it shouldn't.

Could say the same about the giants. In other words, nope.
Too early to judge any of these guys definitively - but threads like these are silly.
Why does this thread exist?

This thread was to point how silly the threads anointing him the next Parcells a few weeks ago were silly. It too early to Judge (no pun intended)

also got knocked out while they were driving for a go-ahead score.

If people paid attention to what's going on around the rest of the league, they would realize that's not a stretch conclusion.

It's seemingly perceived as an unsaid shot against the NY Giants. I guess?
