ER imo is the #1 need of the Giants. Are there any kids playing right now that have gotten some national notice? Any rising stars to keep an eye out for on college Saturday?
I think the kids from Penn State has been mentioned on the board a lot
This is "the guy" this year if you're looking blue chip Edge Rusher. Drew Calais Campbell comparisons coming into the U. That's exactly what the Giants need - a young Calais Campbell.
Let Rousseau play the 5, Dexter at NT and Leonard Williams at 3T.
he is in play with the Giants #1, but I would have liked to have seen him play another season.
Some in play with the 2nd round pick would be Quincy Roche (MIA), Carlos Basham (WF), Patrick Jones (PITT). Hopefully one of them falls to the 2nd. Jones I was expecting to be available then, but I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 were gone. Jones has 2 3 sack games so far this year.

He opted out this year, and while he is a fantastic player, he's more of an all-around linebacker than pure pass rusher. He's like a more physical version of Isaiah Simmons.
I do happen to like both of Michigan's DE's, Kwity Paye and Aidan Hutchinson. Both are fantastic players, though Hutchinson may need another year.

I don't see it as a weak class at all. I like Rousseau at the top. One of the guys you listed could be a good pick with our #2 if we pass on Rousseau. (wouldn't go Hutchinson that high though)
Rousseau at 2-3-4-5 is really early. Only 1 year of showing
Jones from Pitts in round 2 would be awesome
Yeah, in mocks, I have been trading down to the Falcons and 4 and taking Rousseau there, and picking up a 2 or a 3.
IMO, if they have a pick at 2 or 3, best case scenario is all of Peart, Thomas, and Jones pan out. Giants can trade out of 2 or 3 if they are there to a team looking for a QB or Sewell, pick up Rousseau there (or Parsons or Surtain, depending on grades). Pick up at minimum and extra 2 and 3. With the two 2s get the passrusher if you pass on Rousseau (another impact defender if you get Rousseau), and a WR and/or TE. In the 3rd, get another passcatcher, and a CB

Not a fan of Rousseau. Really raw. Wish he had played this season. His wins come from rushing as a DT w/ some kind of line stunting. He doesn’t seem to be able to win the edge. He kinda reminds me of Marcus Davenport but Davenport had TNT in his hands. I don’t see that from Rousseau.
I used the Campbell comparison because that's who the Miami coaches compared him to coming in.
Personally I see a lot of Jason Pierre-Paul in his highlights.
Yes - he played 1 year. 15.5 sacks. I see a big, long edge player who has great closing speed and understands how to use his length to wreak havoc. You get Rousseau coming off the edge with Lawrence, Tomlinson, Williams pushing the pocket and you've got something. They desperately need someone who can be disruptive and Rousseau absolutely looks like that guy.
The Giants are picking at or around the 4 slot again Parsons has to be considered then go after one of the second tier Edge guys in round 2 and this defense coukd reallly come together fast.
they play OLB. Rousseau's the guy but he opted out, so he's a gamble despite the talent. Not sure another will rise to our draft position, but they could certainly reach for one.
But Jalen Twyman of Pitt (opt out) is someone I think could
Be in consideration. Was allowed to wear Aaron Donald’s # at Pitt. Close relationship w/ Donald. 6’2 DT played at about 290lbs. Guy plays behind the line of scrimmage. Sacks and TFLs. Been working out like a beast. At 305 now and his arms are freaking huge. He and Donald have that freakish strength thing in common.
the JPP comp for Rousseau is a pretty good one. Calais Campbell isn't awful either because he has that same rare frame but I don't expect Rousseau to end up at 300 lbs like Campbell did.
Watching TB's defense dominate with Lavonte David and Devin White makes adding a LB like Parsons highly appealing. Speed and playmaking are key - I think almost as much as pure pass rush.

Should say, picking up a 2 AND a 3.
Jones from Pitts in round 2 would be awesome
Excellent prospect.
Parsons played a yr at MLB and a yr at DE

Is he hurt?

So I think the skills to be on the edge are there with some more refinement.

Like I said before,I'm a fan of Dimukeje from Duke.He looks like a legit 6'2",which some might question

Having a good year. Is he the beneficiary of playing opposite of Rumph?
Nah I wouldn't say that,he's been pretty consistent at Duke.I like that he's always out there, doesn't take many plays off
