(disclaimer upfront), however this gets back to the point of how hard it is to judge QB's at schools like Clemson and OSU. This kid steps in, is now completing 73% of his passes, 301 yds, 2 TDs, and 1 rushing TD, with 1.5 quarters still to play. He may throw for 400 yds.
Again nothing against Lawrence, but there are a lot of QB's who would look really good on this team.

The flip side to that is that because they are Clemson, they get top QB talent to come to their school. I think they were saying earlier that he was the top pocket passer coming out of HS.

Absolutely they do. But as anyone knows with kids, there are a lot of changes going on between 18 and 22. Thats why you see guys like Cutler at Vandy, Wentz at NDSU, and McNair at Alcorn St. They get a lot bigger, more mature, and better. Conversely you see guys like Leinert at USC. These are guys who for whatever reason were better than most at 18 (could be growing earlier, better coaching/lessons, better surrounding HS team), that get passed up.

Everyone on the Wisconsin roster has COVID and we'd still probably wipe the floor with Michigan.
Hes gotta be. I watched that last drive where he wasdown by 2 scores with 2 min left. They were calling outside QB runs and dinking and dunking down the field. I turned in toff when they jad like 40 secs left down by ten and hes calling run plays up the middle.
I never like his offensive play calls.
Ok, enough with the preliminary's - Its time for the undefeated
Nah, according to some he doesn't play good teams so it's impossible to say if he's good.
No I think the point is it’s better to evaluate how well he plays against better caliber teams than most of the ACC.
You're definitely right. But games like this shows his worth too, I mean it's a little futile to do this exercise but my guess is Clemson never trails past 7-0 if Lawrence plays in this game.

It happens in every sport, all the time.
This happens because recruiting out of high school is extraordinarily difficult if they aren’t playing at power programs. It’s why teams love to recruit at FL, California, and Texas. These guys all go to massive schools that are highly into football and they playing fields are closer to even. Same reason why it’s very difficult to recruit out of NJ. There’s a billion small schools with talent level all over the place.
Not to say there aren’t late bloomers, but most guys that have NFL size tend to be early bloomers. The dudes with massive bone structure that these guys have at most positions.
I’m staring to think harbaugh goes and coaches the Jets
Everyone on the Wisconsin roster has COVID and we'd still probably wipe the floor with Michigan.
I guess the I’ve affair between Michigan fans and Harbaugh is over? Holy shit, remember when he was hired at Michigan? This board absolutely exploded with non stop Harbaugh circle jerks from all these random “Michigan fans” on this board coming out of the woodwork. It was the strangest thing. How the hell are there so many Michigan fans on a NY Giants board? Of course, we don’t hear from them anymore...

Because for 3 years in the late 1800's any group of people in NJ could decide to create their own municipality. There has been some consolidation but there are still so many towns in NJ compared to other states. Anyway, Trevor Lawrence will be fine. He's the real deal. The new freshman QB behind him is a 5 star. He's one to keep an eye on for the 2023 draft.
He's going to go after Lawrence and Fields, but this is a really good QB class.
I like Jones but i would have zero issue if the new front office decides they don't think he's a franchise QB and trades back and then takes Wilson. I would prefer Wilson over the kid from NDSU and Fields
of this guy being a stud in the NFL. I really think the move is to move back with someone who loves Fields or one of the tackles, take what you can get for Jones, and draft Wilson with your first pick.
by any means because I do think he can be solid but I think thats his ceiling and don't think he has any chance to reach that ceiling with the Giants, they have already pissed away 2 years of his rookie contract. He would be better off going somewhere else that has a solid team around him.
If Jones can be taken with the 6th pick then drafting a guy like Wilson in the top 10 is not unreasonable at all. As a prospect I think Wilson is better in nearly every area.

I havent watched Wson play, so I cant comment on his play as a QB. I would definitely question the level of comp he faces. But also, he is REALLY light in the ass. 6'3 209 is TINY. I know you can add some weight in the NFL, but look around. Most of these QBs these days not only can run, but are sturdy as hell. Hell Jones is like 235 now.
Wilson was 204 I believe at the combine, and Wilson likely will be in the 220 range come the combine he'll pack on the pounds.
Competition is a fair question, but he also doesn't play with great players either.
Wilson also is 5'10 and a half. That's a much sturder frame than Wilson. Wilson had about the same measurements size-wise as Tiki Barber at that combine. He's 215 now. Just a perspective...Eli was 6'4" and 220 coming out and he was by no means big.
But I guess we'll have to see. Will have to watch him next time hes on.

Really? I mean, I like all I've seen from Wilson, but trade Jones for him? Can u give me some more insight as to why you'd do that? Honest question.

However if Clemson beats ND does this really matter?
Need that spark to ignite.
Again nothing against Lawrence, but there are a lot of QB's who would look really good on this team.

Kid is only a frosh and is already making an impact. Living up to high ranking out of Georgia...

Young was at Mater Dei and Uiageleili was at St John Bosco...two powerhouses in CA.

Gotta think. He's been absolute shit against Ohio State

I think the TV graphic was messed up. Michigan had all 3 timeouts.

That was a bad loss.
Okay, wasn't targeting, but the QB's helmet still came off. Why the hell would you help the Auburn player up?

I am watching... lets see how this season progresses. They are getting lucky today with a lot of drops by the opposing receivers.

As far as I remember, that 2002 team was awesome and were winning that OSU game except for McGahee's devastating injury.
