Daniel Jones has cost us the game..

That’s the fact here.
Pick plays,

and offensive holding. Just throw the flag, we'll figure it out later.
Use of helmet?

Did they just make up that phrase/penalty?

Yea the refs suck. They have legitimately cost the giants at least 2 games so far.
Regardless of the game itrself
Sonic Youth : 11/2/2020 10:53 pm : link
These refs are awful.

That personal foul on the Brate play is really really egregious. You can throw all the shit out about "safe play" based on that call.

Brate rammed his helmet into a defenders helmet, and its a defensive personal foul.

The Bucs would have probably scored anyway, but holy fucking shit, how can NFL refs make that call?

What I see tonight is just an extension of things since I started watching the Giants in the 1970's It's been going on at least that long.
That is such horseshit
jpkmets : 11/2/2020 11:21 pm : link
Someone saw a call and threw the flag. Total horseshit. All night shitty calls. All fucking night.
This was honestly unbelieavble hwo bad it was tonight.

If that is tom brady zero chance they pick up the flag
Objectively speaking
Capt. Don : 11/2/2020 11:24 pm : link
That was not DPI. Ball hit Winfield arm before there was contact with Lewis.
You can't pick up the flag there,
CT Charlie : 11/2/2020 11:25 pm : link

Exactly! No Giant fan would want to lose a game defensively on that call, don't beg for it. That wasn't DPI. That was the same shitty ref that called illegal use of the helmet or whatever the fuck.
The League needs Tom Brady

the Bradberry PI on Sportcenter and Van Pelt said, "I hate that you can grab the defender and draw a flag".

It's all about conistency
The defender hit Lewis before the ball
CT Charlie : 11/2/2020 11:33 pm : link
hit the defender's arm. You can argue that both players are entitled to the ball, but you can't say that the ball contacted his arm first.

100%. That, IMO, was the second most egregious behind the Brate penalty

Disagree somewhat. Technically, there was contact first. In one angle (slowed down), you can Lewis' helmet move from contact right before the ball hits Winfield's arm.
But it's so close that the no call was okay IMHO.

That was also not DPI.
The hold in the 1st was bullshit
As was the penalty on Yiadom.

Can you tell me which page that is in in the NFL rule book?
Look..
FatMan in Charlotte : 11/2/2020 11:37 pm : link
a flag was thrown. Picking it up better signify that there was no chance of a foul. If no flag was thrown, that's a different story. They don't pick up shitty calls on illegal contact, defensive holding or PI's that are shown to be bad calls
The problem with the DPI no-call at the end
BlackLight : 11/2/2020 11:38 pm : link
is that they can't review it like they would a turnover. And they can't discuss it unless someone throws a flag and they give themselves a chance to talk it out.

The defender definitely got there a split-second early. But I can't honestly expect these guys to really *know* it happened in real time.

People naturally assume the ref threw the flag because he saw something definitive. But he didn't. He just threw the flag so it would give the refs a chance to talk it out and make absolutely sure they got it right (but without the benefit of perfect memory or replay).

I can't honestly fault them for how they handled it.
If that's..
FatMan in Charlotte : 11/2/2020 11:41 pm : link
the case, then all flags on questionable plays would be discussed. There was no discussion on Bradberry's penalty. There was no discussion on the hold that wasn't.

The ref threw the flag because he thought he saw a foul. That's why flags are thrown.

That was the worst call for me. I thought he covered that really well. Really bailed the bucs out on 2nd and long
Think the first two, maybe three, calls against the giants

This is also just being a losing team.
St. Jimmy : 11/3/2020 12:16 am : link
The refs call the game they think it should go. See the Eagles' last two drives last week. The team they think is better is getting the calls when the game is on the line.
The worst call was the
hammock man : 11/3/2020 5:04 am : link
first call. The holding call on Zeitler on our first drive led to a field goal rather than a possible touchdown. Tampa didn't slow us down, the miss call did that for them.
Add in at least
ripdumaine : 11/3/2020 5:26 am : link
2 late hit calls that weren't flagged against the Bucs too.

I am going to disagree - Winfield hit Lewis 1st or almost at the exact time, never looking for the ball. If it looks like PI it is PI and that clearly lookined like PI.
It was a bang bang play
mattnyg05 : 11/3/2020 6:36 am : link
But you bet your ass Brady would have gotten the call. They throw the flag and pick it up... and it WAS PI you could certainly tell by the replay.

And I will say this,
section125 : 11/3/2020 6:46 am : link
the Giants will have a few plays that they will send to the league office. One was a non-existent hold on a big Gallman run. Who ever it was(Zeitler?) redirected and just shoved JPP on his ass. Horrible call.

I even think the PI on Bradberry against Evans was borderline as Evans tried to swim over Bradberry.

Yes the helmet to helmet was absolutely on Brate - he lowered his helmet to initiate contact, Yiadom was just standing there.
If you want to argue that the throw was shitty
mattnyg05 : 11/3/2020 6:58 am : link
or late and therefore it’s a bail out PI, I get that, but this isn’t out in the schoolyard. Refs can’t decide that.
in games
mittenedman : 11/3/2020 7:11 am : link
as close as the Giants play, the refs have decided 3 games with really bad calls.

The Giants should probably be 4-4 right now and leading the NFC East with one of the worst rosters in football.

The ball hitting the defender firs does not mean it is not PI
The thing is..

WE GOT THE CALL!!!

Until the rest of the group decided we didn't. Where were the conferences on Bradberry's PI's??
