Giants are competing and winning more often than not on the lines. There is more talent than people think on the team and some Mckinney might be a nice add with Xman providing depth. The turnaround is they are playing more and more as a team. Well done and happy they get a break from the game for a bit on a positive note.
Misleading. They had 22 first downs. Same amount as the Giants. They just got their first downs on first and second down.
Why is it misleading? I wouldn't undersell that. The NFL average third down conversion is around 40%. Philly was at 43% entering the game.
Those are key opportunities to stop or continue drives. To stop points or add points the other way with change of possession. So that is a great credit to the D.
RE: This feels like a playoff win after the past few seasons.
FG to put the game away, looks like its slicing wide right, everyone thinking "here we go again", and then someone in heaven said "there will be no miracle in the meadowlands part 1000 today", and the ball hooked right back in.

Before Hernandez replaced the injured Zeitler late in the 3rd, had either him or Peart been in? Did Peart play at all? I don't get even the notion of a rotation. Just play Lemieux and Peart for Zeitler and Fleming.
Peart was in the game on the 3rd drive (I think) following the 2 TDs. His man beat him around the edge on 3rd down causing an errant throw by Jones.
Double digit leads in their last 6 games. They are going to start expecting to win and do well in these games. The tide is turning.
We should be 5-0 in the NFC East for sure. Dalton made a lucky throw to Gallup at the end of that game in Dallas and Engram dropped that easy catch in Philly. What I hope starts happening is that they use the Eagles win as a springboard to start beating other real teams. The schedule is moderately hard and there are a couple of really difficult away games (Baltimore and Seattle) there which are likely losses. However, we have Cincinnati, Cleveland, Arizona and Dallas which are all winnable
He finally read those threatening letters GO TERPS sent to his house and designed running plays for the quarterback. The TD and the almost TD were excellent plays.
Jones did an excellent job in the second half because the Giants badly needed to score after the Eagles TD. (BTW, FUCK BOSTON SCOTT!!! Does this guy do anything against anyone else?) The deep throws to contested Shep and Tate were great. The catch by Slayton on the not so good throw was great.
Props to Nick Gates. I didn’t watch him the entire game, but he made some great blocks during the game.
The defense was ugly at times, but the “bend but don’t break” style worked again. Late in the game, they kept putting the Eagles in 2nd/3rd and longs.
Gino with his first kick with pressure and a bad snap. Good job.
Gotta give Joe Judge a TON of credit. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Judge and Brian Flores were the two best coaches of the Belicheck tree and not the big name assistant?
for work tomorrow just so I can see all the miserable Eagles fans on the subway and in Center City. Biggest win in 4 years.
Sports talk radio in Philly is going to be absolutely incredible tomorrow. I might actually go for a ride right now just to soak it all in.
I will wake up a bit earlier to get WIP going. Suck it Cataldi!
I usually check in Friday before Giants-Eagles games to hear what they're saying, and he was talking tons of shit about Jones. Its gonna be glorious...
Wentz came out in the second half red hot. On second down, he inserts Hurts under center in an obvious run for no gain, forcing 3rd and long. They wind up punting, killing their momentum.
It's amazing how much they went to Hurts in these two games. Free down for the Giants. It feels like a mandate from Roseman to make his pick look good or something.
I've gotten conditioned to not believing it was possible to beat this team. It's not that we lose we just find the craziest way to lose. This goes as far back as 2003 with the Westbrook punt game. Might even say back to 2001 with the Lambuth Special and that first game we should have won too.
I agree, He played a very good game. Best of this season, but no way best of his career. That was against Washington late lat season when he went 28-42 for 352 yds with 5 touchdown passes and 0 int. Still did a terrific job of protecting the ball and managing the game. He showed growth which is something he had not been doing all season.
Jones had 3 games last year where he threw for >300 yards, 4 tds, and no interceptions. Those 3 games were pretty good too.
That sequence of playcalling after the huge Slayton catch almost gave me a nervous breakdown.
Well in FG range, the game changes from needing yards to simply needing to burn clock and protect field position.
Instead: they go shotgun 3 times. 1st play an east-west end around that loses yardage. 3rd play gets blown up in the backfield and almost causes a fumble.
Just line up in a Jumbo formation and run up the gut 3 times. Even taking 3 knees is a sound strategy there.
plowed the whole defensive line into the end zone on the goal line.
I was yelling who the hell are these guys? great stuff today.
And that fucking ref ruining Jone's second TD was a ridiculous call
This team is really well coached. Even with the sputtering drive at the end of the half they managed to not give the ball away or allow any cheap points before the half. And yeah, they gave up the TD out of the gate to the second half but then punched right back with those two nice throws down field by Jones.
Offense, defense and specials played well. The coaches had good game plans and worked the game situations exactly right. I think this might be the most complete game I’ve seen from Big Blue in years. I’m very happy.
I wouldn't say I'm yet at a point where I can say I feel good about
this year. But, after the last few weeks, I at least feel good that we don't outright suck and I am optimistic for the future.
Plus, after the bye, I am excited to see McKinney and Ximinesback. Perhaps with the extra practice time Holmes can push for the #2 CB spot. On D, with everyone healthy, we are only 2 or 3 players from being a good D. Not, great, but good enough to rely on.
For the first time in recent memory, the offensive line is getting a push off the line of scrimmage and protecting the quarterback.Everything grows from there.
Not sure the OL is yet at the point of 'protecting the quarterback"...3 sacks, 7 hits, lots of times Jones running for his life. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Is it improving? I think so, but a long way to go.
And to the clueless poster who ripped Jones for not throwing the perfect strike to EE in Q4 because it was to the outside and OOB, he had a DL with an arm in his face throwing off his back foot. But, yes, back to your scheduled programming of bashing Jones.
Unfortunately, the half-win (the tie) could be the tiebreaker.

on third down.
That is an amazing stat.

Hell yes!
Nice little draw!
Yessir!

You goddamn right!
In fact it didn't seem to affect his throws at all.
Key skillset to succeed at Metlife late in the year.
With a few more weapons he can succeed.

Yeah Mayo has a rough day. Still plenty of work to do on this roster.
Maybe the Giants in victory formation with Dallas on the other side
Only playoff and super bowls!

Big key.
Eagles wins are rare but always enjoyable. Nice two week break to bask in it.
And man how over rated is Doug Pederson

2003? Try 1978! Joe Pisarcik!
To think we could have locked him up as a FA for cheap after a lackluster year on the Jets. He ain't gonna be cheap now.
That is a very good point.
Jones had 3 games last year where he threw for >300 yards, 4 tds, and no interceptions. Those 3 games were pretty good too.
Garrett is light years ahead of previous HC/OC
Sign Garrett to a long term contract- at least 3year deal. And no release for a coaching job.. he’s ours now and calls one heck of a game.

Hopefully they get some deep playoff runs in before Graham gets a head coaching gig.
Everything grows from there.
No Joe Pisarcik or Herman Edwards...
Everything grows from there.
LOL
Holy crap
