Game management

I don't know if this was discussed, but we didn't use a single timeout, the best I can recollect. That is some great game management, IMO.

Judge is our guy. He might make a mistake or two, but I'm loving having him as the Head Coach. Right now, this is looking like the best move ever.
Judge is a freak

His attention to detail, situational awareness and understanding of the game is top of class

My only bitch

is Garrett calling that reverse or pitch to Shepard to lose yardage after the big Slayton catch. Cannot give up yards when the 3 points about seals the game. I thought he was a bit conservative in the second half and at the very end of the 1st half. Weak bitch.

Wish Graham would send a little more pressure. But now we are really nit picking.
My only gripe was

The 4th and 1 up 14-3. We never just go for it in those situations. And I love judge don’t get me wrong I think we hit the jackpot w him but the trying to get teams to jump needs to stop. If u do it to much it isn’t a surprise. Unless the surprise will be we one day snap that ball with nobody expecting it. Always thinking two steps ahead

We have our John Harbaugh. We may see this become a trend in the future now.

Absolutely not. We were in control of the game. Last thing you want to do is give them a chance to get a td there with ball at half. If that happened thats a loss for sure.

When they reset the formation during the second of those 4th down set ups , I was sure they were going to run a play.

Recent interview with Logan Ryan was really revealing about Judge. He was asked if he didn’t know in advance, would he be able to tell Judge came from the Belichick tree.

He said yes, bc Judge brings the same attention and preparation for every detail and game situation.
Not sure why all of you give

Garrett such a tough time. His play calling is so much more diversified than any we have had in years. Yes, he makes the occasional head scratcher like the end around to Shepard but all in all I think he has done a good job keeping defenses guessing. Also, he is working with DJ who is learning a new offensive system.

I agree, I think he’s doing a fine job. Gimmick plays close to the end zone are always dicey, but he gets as creative as he can, with limited talent

I've been pro-Garrett all season, I think he's called some really good games. Guys are getting open, the defense is off balance, and it seems like he is adjusting his systems to use the talent he has. A few times a game I find myself being pleasantly surprised by an innovative call he has made
Nice to see
redwhiteandbigblue : 11/15/2020 5:55 pm : link
some Garrett supporters. While he is not perfect, I like the majority of his play calling. Nice to see some diversity as opposed to off tackle run, followed by a 5yd pass to a TE leaving us 3rd and long, which is the type of offense we have been running forever.

Let's not forget we have very little offensive talent to work with and a QB learning his 2nd offensive system in his first two years in the league. If you ask me, Garrett has done a very good job so far-again with some head scratching calls as posted above by others.
He botched the TO usage at the end of the first half

Should have taken one after the completed pass, but didn't.
As much as we accomplished with Kevin Gilbride's offense

I can't say I miss seeing a weekly over/under on Delay Of Game penalties.
I really like what Garrett has done here
BlackLight : 11/15/2020 6:26 pm : link
When your offense doesn't have a playmaker that makes other teams worry, you have to get creative. And JG has done that.

Honestly, my top concern at this point is that a team will offer Garrett and/or Graham head coaching jobs this offseason.

While that worry is certainly in play, I trust Judge to be able to fill any vacancies with the same types of people. He's all about teaching and preparation. I also think he's got a rolodex with those kinds of coaches on it.

I agree with Zeke here. We have gone for it in that area of the field before, but you have to read the game. We had Philly confused on O up to that point. and punting actually worked in our favor. Losing momentum at that point, especially with Philly coming out of the halftime with a TD drive, would have been terrible.
This is a real coaching staff...
trueblueinpw : 11/15/2020 9:28 pm : link
Agree about Garrett, some of these games he’s down right dialed in and dealing with his play calling. Tbh, I don’t think Jones is always able to leverage the opportunities on the field from the plays JG is setting up and sending in. This whole team feels well coached. Obviously the wins aren’t there yet and that’s what counts. But this team feels like they’re coached better than any I can recall in a long time. Including the TC which always felt a bit hit or miss.

at the end of the first half really caught my attention - just flawless. Unfortunately the offense couldn’t move the ball 10-15 yards and add three points.
