But first, just gotta say what a great win by the Giants with all three units contributing big time! Just feels so good to finally beat the Eagles.
Now my question: It's 4th down with about 4 seconds to play and the Giants are around (I think) the Eagles 45 yard line. I understand Joe Judge doesn't want to punt the ball (may get blocked), but I don't understand what Daniel Jones was doing on that play?
With 4 seconds left he can run around and burn the clock, or he can drop back and throw a Hail Mary into the end zone, which has the virtue of burning the clock and -- who knows? -- may lead to a miracle touchdown.
But Daniel Jones stepped up into the pocket; looked around and then got nailed for a sack. Did something go wrong on that play? Daniel Jones had a great game, but did he miss the memo on what to do as the half came to a close?
This is not meant to take away from a really good game by Jones. Just something I noticed a couple of times. However, the ball security and decision making in the pocket were generally very good.
