The Giants have been getting their ass kicked in the trenches to Philly for years. That was not the case today. The OL played a strong game today, the run game was successful and Jones had time to throw. As the game went on, the defense generated pressure on Wentz. Beating the Eagles in the trenches is huge and it’s been so damn long.
As for Jones, this was his best game as a pro imo. He once again showed his ability running the football. He was holding the ball high and tight. Most importantly, when he needed to make big time throws - he did. After the Eagles made it 14-11, that response by the Giants was so crucial, which included big time throws to Shep & Tate. The throw to Slayton late in the 4th was ballsy and perfectly placed. I loved it.
This was such an important win today. I’m hoping we finally turned the corner.
... and it got worse when Pugh and Richberg got hurt.
I’m not ready to give DG that credit as I still think there are more misses than hits. That said, they completely dominated the line of scrimmage against a good D line today. I absolutely love Lemieux. How was he not starting Week 1??

Probably because he was 5th round draft pick who didn't even put his uniform on for the first time until 29 days before the season kicked off.

to say/think he fixed the OL in the last year‘s draft - specifically, counting on later picks like Peart and Lemieux. That opinion doesn’t seem so crazy now though. The three rookies + Gates and Hernandez give us the makings of at least a solid OL going forward. We’ve been non-competitive there for years.

Lemieux absolutely flashes potential in the running game, but he was a major culprit in why Jones was feeling a lot of heat when we were passing the ball.

He was definitely at fault for some pressure and at the end of game when he replaced Zeitler, the line crumbled and almost got Gallman’s head taken off.

The future OL is looking set and I predict for 2021:
Thomas-Lemiuex-Gates-Hernandez-Peart, with Zeitler a possible cut due to cap reasons along with Solder & Tate on offense.
Lemiuex is a "work in progress" and he probably lacks the physical ability to be a stud but he can be serviceable and a bull in the run game.
But let me say this: if we do win this division somehow and by some miracle even win our first playoff game at home, we'd be picking aroun 20th. If an OL is the BPA at that point, an OG or OC perhaps, I think we take that player, especially if we cut Zeitler.
We have been BLESSED with good health on the OL and that is why we are coming together now.
I believe during the bye week we will not only rest up but we'll review film on what is truly working NOW and what isn't, adjusting the gameplan and playbook accordingly. We will also "coach up" the young players as well as get some guys back from injury hopefully.
I believe we can beat Cincy because their defense is suspect. Lets hope after we beat Cincy that Philly, Dallas and the Skins continue with their losing ways.
I'd love to take this division vs Dallas week 17. That would be sweet.
Starting to come together Peppper! :-)
They are still a bit weak on pass pro, but the running game is improved and they actually move the dline now.
