Rumor that seems reliable: OKC to send Dennis Schroeder to LAL for Danny Green's corpse and the 28th overall pick.
One would assume that this means Rajon Rondo (FA) will not return. Note that he went to UK and you'll see a pronounced roster shift (or assumption of a shift) to it being UK strong.
Rumor that seems unreliable: James Harden to Nets for Lavert, Dinwiddie, Allen and perhaps draft compensation.

Knicks interested in Hayward
Could this be why they are holding off on Hayward accepting the offer? If so, how do you trade him if he doesn’t accept isn’t he technically a FA
Since he has agreed to push off the opt in date it tells me they are working together to get a deal
how do you view this in terms of trade value, though? Is the writing on the wall that he intends to opt in for financial reasons, and the celtics would prefer to have him off the payroll? So if you're the trade partner, are you doing Boston a favor?
1 year at $34M seems pretty well above market. So is this a dump that Boston should be attaching another asset to in order to get off the hook? If so, this is exactly the type of thing the Knicks should be diving into.
No idea haha, i really dont know his value..
I would assume thr Knicks would hope they can get 1 of Bostons first rounders this year
@MikeVorkunov
The Knicks are “weighing, but resisting" a Russell Westbrook trade, @TheSteinLine
reports. He says the best asset NY would trade to Houston is a future Mavericks pick, but they remain skeptical.
this is the most likely scenario, it sounds like he thinks he can get an offer in free agency and is willing to opt out..
Don't understand this at all. Is this supposed to make Harden happy? Why would Houston take on Wall's contract?
It's a much better offer than what the Nets are proposing, it helps get the Rockets out of cap hell, and the Knicks have a star to start building around.
I guess thenpoint is they would get an asset back, they dont want to trade westbrook for nothing
“Celtics and Nets battling for Harden. Knicks could actually help Boston and take Kemba( if they have interest) and give them some picks to get deal done. — stay tuned
I have no idea how to copy/ paste a Twitter link or screen shot a picture to upload to BBI.

if we're allowing ourselves to get really crazy, we could also take back Gordon for an expiring.

shit, while we're here, why don't we just offer Mitch, 8 and RJ Barrett for Harden?

Absolutely. Even with those two guys, they'd have some room this offseason for FA additions but would have a full max spot available next year once Randle is off the books.
if they trade for Westbrook, Hayward would be a decent running mate. Unfortunately they'd still probably be the worst team in the division.
Could knock down his cap hit
Ok im not hating the idea of adding Russ and Hayward, lol. I mean:
Russ
Hayward
RJ
??
Mitch
with the #8 pick, and whoever is left of Knox and Frank, and some vet signings. Might battle for the 6 seed in the east, lol.
Its starting to feel like we are only days away from a picture of an empty bar stool between Kyrie and KD....

Honestly no idea if he is right or not.
we can just sign him outright.

Anyway, I still think this Harden thing is a bridge too far. I hope Houston holds firm and gets a star player in return.
Sounds very likely that Giannis is signing the supermax with the Bucks. Good for him and saves us a year of bullshit rumors he's interested in New York.
That should be fun
Walker and hayward for Randle, Frank, DSJ, future 1st

That’s be a great trade for NYK, don’t know if Boston would do it/ want more.
I like Kira a lot. It's between Kira/Hayes/Vassell for me.
I keep trying to talk myself into Toppin but I can't do it. Too upright, too bad a defender, not great awareness.
I don't think Haliburton can create enough at the PG spot so I would pass on him.
And Okoro probably has a solid role in the NBA but he's just a bad fit with RJ.
The only other guy that could be the pick is possibly Avidja, who also isn't a great fit with RJ but I think has high upside.
Tobbin could be a bad pick due to lack of quickness and bad defensive play, but Okoro seems like a bust candidate. Would love Quickley at 27 or 38...
Completely agree with this. Okoro is by far the worst fit for this team. The last thing they need is another non-shooter, I can't watch another season of RJ beating his guy into the paint just to be met by 4 guys at the rim because we don't have anyone that can stretch the floor.
I know it's not the popular opinion, but I really want Toppin, Hayes, or Lewis. We never really got a chance to see what Chandler, Stat, and Carmelo could do together while all healthy, Mitch, Toppin, and RJ would be the young, new age version of that (all 3 guys have a heck of a lot of growth to do to live up to those guys, I know). Having Robinson on the floor will help cover up a lot of Toppin's flaws defensively, and you just hope Thibs can help him improve.
I would be just as happy with any of the PGs though, the need there is undeniable, and to me Lewis has the highest upside.
I get that the offense is not there. But from the day he's drafted he's a defensive force. And while it wouldn't be fun to watch them shoot, a lineup with Mitch, Frank and Okoro would be a pain to play against.
In theory, the Knicks are building a real basketball development organization. You can see why Thibs would love him. He's a Jimmy Butler starter kit. Jaylen Brown is a good comp too. It's true that he may only end up to be a defensive player but even that's pretty damn good.
