Rumor that seems reliable: OKC to send Dennis Schroeder to LAL for Danny Green's corpse and the 28th overall pick.

One would assume that this means Rajon Rondo (FA) will not return. Note that he went to UK and you'll see a pronounced roster shift (or assumption of a shift) to it being UK strong.

Rumor that seems unreliable: James Harden to Nets for Lavert, Dinwiddie, Allen and perhaps draft compensation.

The Lakers also did put together a good package for AD
Strahan91 : 11/16/2020 11:30 am : link
when you consider he only had a year left on his deal. In fact, I don't remember another team that was rumored to have pursued him heavily because he said he wasn't going to sign an extension anywhere. Seemed like his camp was very anti-Boston but that's the only other team that could've made sense. Even then I think a deal centered around Ingram was the better option than around Jaylen Brown (and I love Brown's game).

If Houston were to accept Brooklyn's offer, it would be nowhere close to what the Pelicans got for AD.

TyreeHelmet : 11/16/2020 11:35 am : link
If Brooklyn rolls out Durant, Irving, Harden and Harris...man oh man is that some serious shooting. It even tops the Durant Warriors for shooting...

-Berman is pretty tied into the team. From him it sounds like they aren't interested in Van Vleet. That sucks.

- I would be very happy with Hayes at 8.

- At this point, I would be surprised if Westbrook is not a Knick. It would be awful if they do that rumored package. Under no circumstances should they be sending out any picks or young players.

but its the NBA and players like Harden dictate where they play.

Other teams could have built better trade packages for AD but he wanted to be a Laker so.

No shot HOU sends Harden somewhere he doesn't want to be. Does not happen in this league.

in the just the last 2-3 years, off the top of my head, the following trades involved all-star caliber players that did not control their destination: Blake to Detroit, CP3 to OKC, PG to OKC, Kawhi to Toronto, Butler to Minnesota, Derozan to SA.
Can the Rockets seriously trade Harden and Westbrook

and wind up with Levert, Dinwiddie, Allen, Randle, Ntilikina and a few draft picks? Just fold the franchise at that point.

and it's not like they can try and live in the lottery for a few years. They owe quite a few picks to OKC.
These trades

for Westbrook are terrible for the Knicks. Same with Paul. Westbrook isn't a true lead dog. We don't have the complimentary pieces around him to maximize his skillset.

He's also 32, with injury concerns. That contract? Hard f'kin pass.

Pete44 : 11/16/2020 11:42 am : link
The latest intel, barring a last minute surprise drop for a guy like Tobin or a trade down, it is looking like the Knicks are going to take Devin Vassell.

Don't shoot the messenger as I actually hate this pick. I'm not high on him.

I've wanted Kira Lewis.
Figured to be Okoro or Vassell at 8, or Lewis with a trade down.
bceagle05 : 11/16/2020 11:44 am : link
I thought they'd lean Okoro, but we'll see. I'll live with anyone except Haliburton - not the right roster for him.
Sorry, I don't see
NYG22 : 11/16/2020 11:46 am : link
any connection between a Harden trade to the Nets and the likelihood of a Westbrook trade to NYK.

I'd be very fine with this. Prefer him to Okoro and probably Lewis. Would take Hayes over him but I think the assumption is Hayes won't be there. A great fit with the current roster and someone with a high floor, which in this draft is a nice add.

Also Kyrie to Boston and KP to Dallas too. There's recency bias because last offseason AD and Paul George were both able to force trades to their preferred destinations. But there are more examples in recent years of teams not sending disgruntled stars where they ask to be traded to.

Aren’t a Westbrook away, they’d need to get another player to be a playoff contender. Rather they offer that package for CP3 who has 1 year less on his deal.

and I may he misreading it, but it seems that Rose seems to be basically in if it's a salary dump and a few other pieces. He doesn't seem desperate to get it done. Also if it's getting out there that we're cool on FVV its probably because he let it be know through back channels that he has little interest in coming here.

Berman says Paul wasn't that interested in coming here, OKC let Paul have some say where he was headed.
I believe this also takes
NYG22 : 11/16/2020 1:18 pm : link
Phoenix out of the FVV sweepstakes.

For NYK, FVV is really the best choice (significantly younger, cheaper and best shooter of CP3, Westbrook and god forbid, John Wall)
