Rumor that seems reliable: OKC to send Dennis Schroeder to LAL for Danny Green's corpse and the 28th overall pick.

One would assume that this means Rajon Rondo (FA) will not return. Note that he went to UK and you'll see a pronounced roster shift (or assumption of a shift) to it being UK strong.

Rumor that seems unreliable: James Harden to Nets for Lavert, Dinwiddie, Allen and perhaps draft compensation.

Vassell is a CAA client

So is Obi Toppin

Kira Lewis is with Verus, same as Kevin Knox

Haliburton is also CAA

yeah Hayward...
Italianju : 11/16/2020 6:18 pm : link
needs to decide if he wants 1 year for or like 4/80. Might be worth it to take the extra years at the lower salary. Assuming he can still get that much.

What is vassell upside? He def seems to have a lower ceiling then some of the other options (with a higher floor).

he is a 3 and d guy, he is going to be your lock down defender on the perimiter..

i just dont think you take that kind of guy at 8...
Italianju : 11/16/2020 6:34 pm : link
the athletic draft guide made the comparison to Danny Green. I dunno, feel like those types of guys can be found later then top 10.

That is the problem with this draft, it is a bunch of role players

The same could’ve been said for Klay Thompson and Devin Booker as draft prospects. Doesn’t mean he’ll come close to being as good as those two players but player comparisons are useless.

I like Vassell, but they do need a point guard, Thibs like to put the ball in his guarss hands, it is part of the reason i think they like Westbrook..

Thibs knows he can trust Westbrook to run the offense..

This guy is a troll. Not a real reporter and based on what I saw him tweeting earlier today, isn’t intending to be taken seriously.
thats just someone trying to make a name...
Italianju : 11/16/2020 7:22 pm : link
i mean this is the perfect time of year to throw out a Giannis to NY rumor. Or really anyone to NY rumor.

Ive said all along i wont be upset with whoever they pick, if its Vassell then i hope he can be a bit more on offense then just a shooter. Im going to at least give this FO a draft and offseason before i start trashing them, lol

Jon in NYC : 11/16/2020 7:56 pm : link
worked out Devin Vassell and Kira, but they weren't able to work out Hayes, but they tried to get something scheduled. Wonder if that sways them in either direction.

Couldn't find a full list but I also believe I read Nesmith and Okoro got workouts. They only can do 10 this year so it's limited.
They worked out Toppin and Bey too.
Strahan91 : 11/16/2020 8:07 pm : link
I’m not sure about Nesmith but I believe they haven’t worked out Okoro, just did a Zoom interview.

I think previous front offices would have given up mutiple 1st rounders already..

The covington trade does make it seem like the Rockets see the writing on the wall
It's amazing how liberally first round picks are given up

Opens the door for Melo to come to the knicks hahaha..

Also opens the door for the Rockets to gice a first to the Knicks in the Westbrook trade

UGADawgs7 : 11/17/2020 9:02 am : link
Price for Jrue. He has 1 more year, followed by a player option that he’ll probably decline. I wouldn’t have done that price for Jrue, but would have been the perfect PG to acquire if the price was affordable. 3 firsts plus Bledsoe and Hill is nuts. Jrue is better than Bledsoe but not 3 firsts worthy better.
Yeah I love Jrue as a player
Stu11 : 11/17/2020 9:18 am : link
But that price is insane. Especially if Giannis bolts and Jrue opts out. That team could crater in a hurry and some of those picks can be lottery picks. The Bucks are going all in for the next 2 seasons.
With these trades
JB_in_DC : 11/17/2020 9:27 am : link
I think you gotta wait and see the protections on the firsts. Like guaranteed dollars in NFL contracts.
Holiday
TyreeHelmet : 11/17/2020 9:32 am : link
What a great trade for New Orleans. Holiday is really good but that is a lot to give up. Add in the Bogdanvic deal and the Bucks are giving up a ton. Maybe this is a precursor to Giannis signing the super max? But he doesn't make any sense for him to do that- might as well just ride it out until free agency.

I wonder if New Orleans tries to get involved in the Harden talks. They could easily trounce the BKN offer. I don't really see any reason why Houston would take the Nets offer unless they are getting about 5 future 1sts along with those players...

spoke to a writer, majority of the Knicks chatter has been moving up and/or down in the draft and those talks are active (both ways).
They seem
Jon in NYC : 11/17/2020 10:12 am : link
to really like Toppin, but if they're moving up it seems likely to go after LaMelo.

I also wonder if they're trying to move up from 27 to like 15 to try to get whoever of Okoro/Kira/Vassell/Hayes falls.

Tough to picture anyone motivated to trade up to #1, except for maybe Charlotte

5 first round picks plus those players is probably the bare minimum. LAC traded 5 firsts and 2 pick swaps for Paul George and that was in addition to SGA and Gallinari. SGA was/is a better asset than any of the players the Nets would be sending.
What would it take
UGADawgs7 : 11/17/2020 10:24 am : link
To move from 27-15 range? 27, 38 and a player? Or more? I do wonder what they do end up doing. It’ll definitely be fun but hope they don’t give the world for Westbrook and that $.

Here is the pick breakdown on the Jrue Holiday trade:

New Orleans receives

2020 1st (via IND)
2024 right to swap
2025 1st unprotected
2026 right to swap
2027 1st unprotected
wow what a "FU" trade by the Bucks GM
Eric on Li : 11/17/2020 10:30 am : link
Must be pretty nice to trade picks 4+ years down the road when it will probably be someone else's problem.

I think this signals they are shopping westbrook and Harden, Westbrook we knew, but Harden is gone..

Id argue Covington was their 3rd best player, between him and Tucker

So now we have a possible Patrick Williams promise on top of the Bulls not extending a QO to Kris Dunn, which would make you think they're targeting a ball handler.

So who the hell knows what's up.

Pretty sure this just confirms they're rebuilding.

Covington is a GREAT defender and role player. He's not a lockdown defender who can shut individuals down, but he's incredible at team defense. Really enjoyed watching him in Houston. He's a great get by the Blazers. The Blazers should look into flipping CJ McCollum for a more well-rounded two way player and they could be contenders.

I wonder if that bum Tilman Fertitta has anything to say about this whenever he goes on CNBC to whine about his businesses again. Fuck the NBA for letting him be an owner.
Another possibility for Houston is that
Strahan91 : 11/17/2020 10:47 am : link
they plan to use those picks in another deal to appease Harden. If there is truly zero interest around the league in Westbrook, keeping both and trying to improve in some way elsewhere wouldn’t be the worst idea. Of course they could also be intending to use them to make it possible to move Westbrook.

Smoke with Patrick Williams getting out of hand.

Teams talking about Chicago eyeing Williams at 4, Pistons possibly making a promise at 7. Though still not sold Detroit passes on Haliburton if he's there. Okongwu going top 6 pushes someone down the board.
