Wentz indicated he thought the story of the game was more that the Giants’ defense played well than that the Eagles’ offense played poorly. “We don’t go into a game thinking we’re going to struggle like that and go 0-for-9 on third downs and only put up a couple points,” Wentz said. “But I’ve got to give a lot of credit to that defense. I thought we had a good game plan ready to go. They made a lot more plays than us and we didn’t deserve to win.” |
Pederson was saying how Graham's scheme was why they weren't successful.
Wentz said they try to keep everything in front and they do a great job.
There are already rumors that the Colts will attempt to trade for Wentz this offseason. Reich was the OC for Wentz during his best season before he left for the Colts.
Yeah, they drafted Jalen Hurts for a reason. You don't draft a QB in the 2nd round when you already have one unless you don't plan on having the original for much longer.

Jalen Hurts has been so unimpressive every time he is in the game, I don't even know what they think they have with him.
First, big contract to the QB (who is now a question mark based on performance) which will inhibit them from signing players. They are in dire cap situation and will have to purge veteran players. They might end up trying to move him.
On top of that, they are getting older (Kelsey, Cox, Graham, etc). These players will need to be replaced by good drafting.
And the topper, the HC is not a very good coach. Tremendously overrated if you don't follow closely. He caught ligtening in a bottle with the RPO in 2017, a weaker NFC field, and an excellent assistant in Reich.
His play calling is horrid.
NYG, Washington, and Dallas are all going to pass them IMO over the next few seasons unless they hit it big in their drafts.
And...they are still the front runners for the divison this year IMO just because of their veteran leadership/players...but that's all coming to an end.

It isn't a rumor. It was Boomer saying IF Wentz was available then HE THINKS Indy would be interested. That is like saying if Aaron Donald was available that we'd be interested. You file that under "no shit Sherlock".
Look at the Eagles cap situation for next year and then look at Wentz's cap hit. I don't see how it is even a possibility financially. 2022? Sure. 2021? Don't see it at all.
I don't think it's that simple. I think the giants were daring Philly to stick with the run, had Philly committed to it I imagine the Giants adjust.
agreed, nothing worse than the "better team lost" gripes. Good for Wentz here
