I don't think this is good for Baker. The assumption has been that the changing stories of some of the witnesses has been because they've been paid off. Now there seems to be evidence that there was an attempt.
It does taint the testimony of those involved, however, whichever way it goes, so maybe you're right.
The question is, did Baker make the payments? I'm guessing he did because the witnesses recanted. If they have evidence of that, then it may result in additional charges.
