I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because he does not fall under the BBI double "ZZ" in his name rule.

Yesterday the OL surged FORWARD for two short yardage TD's. I have not seen that in eight years. The pass pro still needs to improve but we are no longer being dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

We have not competed at the LOS for far too long. It appears this group will change that. OL/DL play vastly improved.

Hey Jon....I’m not sure why you mock this poster. What exactly did he say that was so egregious?

If you are looking to mock posters, find the ones who have been very vocal from the get go this year to boot out DG and DJ. Those guys have gone running or at least are now laying low. But what makes guys like them so disappointing is that few of them ever come on here and ADMIT THEY SPOKE HASTILY AND OUT OF FRUSTRATION and now see the error of their ways, and our glad they were wrong.

Don’t forget....if you diss DG in particular, this is the guy who hired Joe Judge and helped him form his team of coaches to assist in the operation. This- hiring a head coach- is probably the most important job he can do. Shouldn’t DG get major props for that? It could have been much worse....Mike McArthy instead.
No, he doesn't get props for shit

Gettleman's tenure is still a goddamned embarrassment and I eagerly await the day he's cleaning out his office.

Wow, apparently you don’t see what everyone is seeing here....the formation of a very good football team with good coaches, good draft picks, and good free agent pick ups.

Oh well, to each his own.

How do you know Gettleman didn't prefer McCarthy as his choice?

Wow really? He rebuilt this team from ground up and found the QB for the franchise. Your blinded by your bias too bad.

If you're going to give DG props for Judge, you have to hold Shurmur against him.

Or, you could just pay attention to the Giants when they say, repeatedly, that the GM does not hire the coach in their organization. Ownership hires both.

Look, I get the enthusiasm. I'll be the first to say that I genuinely hope I'm wrong that DG is a mediocre GM, because I want the Giants to win. But take a look around the league - we have three wins in a putrid division, and this is worth celebrating? Arizona is already a legitimate playoff caliber team and they started their rebuild a year later than the Giants did. DG is not doing a particularly great job; he's just finally starting to get a few things right, when he was previously getting almost everything wrong.
Comparing us to Arizona is foolhardy. We clearly have a team
Zeke's Alibi : 11/17/2020 9:10 am : link
that’s going to improve in the years to come with decent decision making. The Cards are running something new and novel in the NFL and are taking the league by storm. Curious what they look like in year 3 when NFL gets a chance to adjust. Rooting for them because I’m a big believer in Kyler, just we’ve seen this story before in NFL and teams adjust.

Arizona was way ahead of the Giants. While they fell of the pedestal when Arians was let go, they still had the talent that the Giants did not. Simply look at what we know the Giants need, CB, ER and WR. The Cards already had all of those. Murray filled a void at QB that was as wide as the Grand Canyon.
Arizona has carried over virtually no one from the Arians teams
Greg from LI : 11/17/2020 9:20 am : link
They have an end-of-the-line Larry Fitz and a declining Patrick Peterson. That's basically the extent of the starters who were there the last time Arizona made the playoffs.

The Giants also had CB, ER and WR. DG just got rid of those players.

Not exactly strengthening the argument of DG's illustrious rebuild when the team needs you mention weren't needs when he took over.

I just want someone to refresh my memory here...

The last two wins haven't been against the Chiefs and Steelers. Correct?

We beat the WFT and the Eagles the last two weeks, right? With a combined record of 5-12-1.

Thanks in advance...

The Eagles are a pretty solid team with an up and down QB
Zeke's Alibi : 11/17/2020 12:24 pm : link
Their biggest issue, and will continue to be until they get younger, is injuries. Wentz played okay and they were healthy coming off a bye and we controlled the game start to finish.

Unless jones keeps up the good play and the giants keep winning of course. Then DG is going to be looked at as the guy who helped steer the giants out of the wilderness. Tell me I’m wrong. Please I could use a good laugh.
Sick of this nonsense

You fuckers have no fucking patience. We were 1-7 then we beat 2 fucking awful teams and now DG is god? F U C K F U C K F U C K. Let the fucking god damn season play out. Jones could fumble away the game to the Bengals. None of us fucking know, damn it.

I think I agree that we are ascending. I think we are 50/50 to win the division at the moment but holy shit I would not say anything about this team with any kind of certainty. I have HOPE and that is AWESOME.

Thinking DG has done a terrible job to this point is a reasonable take. Thinking he might have finally got it right this year may also be reasonable by the end of the year.

Sobering thought.

If we were in the AFC or NFC west we would likely be winless today.

So chill.

We are a young and hopefully ascending team. The last 2 games are outliers until we see more. Hope, enjoy it.

+1

I think we also have to make sure we are weighing Judge and DG as best as we can. For instance. If we end up 4-12 again, I think that probably says way more about Judge as a coach than DG putting together a good roster. Obviously the details matter, what Jones does, where Andrew Thomas ends up. McKinney being an impact player would be huge for DG too IMO.
