Happy victory Monday Giants fans! After 4 long years we finally beat the Birds! Yes it's only one win but after the ineptitude this team has shown these past few years this was awesome, especially because we were solid in all 3 phases of the game (for the most part)
-A couple weeks ago I posted about how I don't think DJ is the guy moving forward, but with a solid outing in a crucial game yesterday, it makes it hard to maintain that position.
Honestly I am still very skeptical, but if he can pull off wins against the Hawks, Cards, or the Ravens, then I might have to switch my stance. I really hope he proves me wrong.
-Good things happen when you don't turn the ball over! Good things also happen when the line is blocking well in pass protection. DJ was 18/18 when he had a clean pocket. He continues to be a threat in the run game but he took a couple shots yesterday and I don't want to see McCoy as our QB. Gates has really improved.
-For a good chunk of the game the O-line controlled the LOS. We rushed for 151 yards and Gallman, who ran really hard yesterday, had a couple of big holes in the first half. It will be interesting to see what happens when Freeman comes back.
-Run D definitely had one of their worst games yesterday, but I am not worried about that group moving forward. Our secondary really stepped up only allowing 190 yards through the air. Bradberry continues to be dominant. Also liking what I am seeing from Peppers and Holmes. If our secondary can hold up, I like our chances in making a playoff push.
-Gano is money, Dixon is money, and our special teams as a whole is playing really well, obviously we can credit that to Judge. Judge has a lot more to prove but I am so excited about him being our coach moving forward.
I went back and looked at some of the games from last fall and earlier this season...it's night and day.

I was excited when Gates was moved to center because I thought that he could be solid there and because I don’t think that Pulley is even a solid backup. I was not expecting Gates to be this good so quickly. I was hoping that he would make improvements each week and he has but at a more rapid rate than expected.
Gates has been the Giants best offensive linemen this season. There is not one fan who would have predicted this coming into the season.
