Damn. That is one tough SOB. Wonder if this means he's played his last game?
Not quite the same, but this made me think of Bavaro breaking his jaw in 1986 and supposedly nobody knew for a couple of weeks because he never spoke anyway.
two separate occasions. The pain is there when you need to use your oblique muscles which put a strain in that area. So, getting up out of bed hurts more than walking up a flight of stairs.
Setting aside the collapsed lung situation, this is more of a pain management thing for him.
Payton he could not play. Collapsed lung and 5 ribs. That will be a comfortable 3 to 4 weeks....how the hell do you breath.
I will say this, I did not agree with the penalty. DT tackled him hard, but was really off to the side a bit.
Yep, know we will see if Payton can coach up Winston.
I didn't agree with the penalty either. But, I also didn't agree with either the announcer or analyst talking about the clip (I'm not sure which) calling it a textbook hit. It was not textbook. He was up high and came very close to helmet to helmet. But, he did not do anything dirty on the hit or taking him to the ground. It was clean, though. I don't think it helped that he fell on the ball with his ribs.
ribs, sneezing and coughing hurt more than almost anything else other than going from laying down to sitting up, and there isn't any medical treatment for them other than pain management.

we were on the same flight from Tel Aviv to Germany. He and his wife were in sweats and watched exercise videos on their ipads during the entire flight. Clearly someone who put a premium on staying in condition during his final years in the league. i should have asked him to pass his dessert over during the meal.
Brees injury - ( New Window )
How long was the rehab? Were you able to use a TV remote?

That was worthy of a spit take!!

Fixed. We are Giants' fans, afterall.

not sure about the collapsed lung.
Did they say if/how much time he will miss?

He's got the perfect coach to help with that!
Every time the Saints are in the hunt I root for them to get Brees another ring, guy is a warrior.
Hope he heals up and is back at it.
