I'm not doubting Garofolo, but that sure doesn't seem right.

Yeah, seems like enough time to make it back. As long as he feels okay.

I think it might be OK...Hernandez played Sunday. I initially thought it was an automatic 14 day quarantine, but I guess not.

Depends on how quickly he gets his three negatives....it certainly could be a problem
Didn’t Baker Mayfield test positive during their bye week?
Jay on the Island : 11/17/2020 9:50 am : link
He didn’t miss a game.
He's been on fire ...
Stufftherun : 11/17/2020 9:51 am : link
just hope this won't signal the start of one shank after another.
It's more than enough..
FatMan in Charlotte : 11/17/2020 9:52 am : link
time to come back next week. We've seen 3 other cases where players were put in COVID protocol and returned to play without missing a game, and Gano has an extra week.
Get well soon
FGiant : 11/17/2020 9:55 am : link
Thats the first thing. Kickers are mostly themselves on the field, no large epidemia on the team.
It depends on a number of factors including if he's symptomatic
pjcas18 : 11/17/2020 9:58 am : link
The league determines the protocol this is a flow chart they sent to guide the process.

lol.
Let's hope he's OK
DavidinBMNY : 11/17/2020 10:18 am : link
First and foremost. Then sure the game.
Plenty of time to come back IF he is asymptomatic and stays that way.
Big Blue Blogger : 11/17/2020 10:26 am : link
If he shows symptoms, he’s on a slower track and the bigger concern becomes his long-term health. On the bright side, though fairly old for the NFL, 33 is still young in CoViD terms, and he’s obviously in great physical condition.

Jesus.
At least it's during the bye week
Eli Wilson : 11/17/2020 10:37 am : link
and a position which is normally isolated anyways. Not to mention not really needing to focus on strategy or game planning.

Hoping for a speedy recovery.
Thank goodness he won't need a lot of practice
Simms11 : 11/17/2020 10:44 am : link
time. Hope he's ok.

Exactly! He's a kicker after all, not a neurosurgeon.
well the good news is no one really talks to the kicker
PatersonPlank : 11/17/2020 11:58 am : link
so exposure should be limited
Gano

LOL, my first thought as well.

BBI was correct in guessing it was a specials teams player.

To be fair, we've been on the luckier side of things when it comes to the virus and guys missing time.

Hopefully, The Fates aren't backloading our shitty luck for the stretch run of this season, when a division title is actually something within reach.
Pray

Feel better Gano
jpkmets : 11/17/2020 2:30 pm : link
If you’ve got to have a positive, K and P seem to be the positions where it has a better chance to stay isolated.

Probably made it rain at a speakeasy strip club after the extension. Understandable.

Unless he dies...the risk is low for a young healthy person, but believe me, plenty of them have gotten really sick and some have died.

He has a 4 times better chance of being murdered than a healthy 31 year old does of dying from COVID. But yes, correct, good chance he will be fine unless he dies.

Might be able to play with a mask?
trueblueinpw : 11/17/2020 6:40 pm : link
I mean, just to be safe, fit him with an N95 and let's go!

Seriously though, I hope he's fine.
