Every year there are new head coaches, and they generally are offensive or defensive coordinators.
Jason Garrett obviously has head coaching experience and has been successful developing quarterbacks.
Graham has done wonders for this defense. And it cannot hurt his chances that he would be a minority candidate as the league wants more minorities in powerful positions.
It’s possible (I don’t know either way), that 9 1/2 years as a HC was enough for JG and that being an OC of a young squad gives him much less stress..
Granted, it would not feel good to see Graham go so soon. The product he's put forth has been damned impressive.
Might not be all bad to lose a coach in that case.
Garrett to the Jets. There, I said it! (joking)

The Giants O has been decent at times, but ranks towards the bottom in yards and PPG. Jones has shown flashes, but really has not made a lot of progress. Graham is the more likely candidate because he will satisfy the Rooney Rule in terms of interviews and the Giants D has overperformed even though the lack of pass rush at times is beyond frustrating.

I doubt that is much consideration unless the only HC option is for a team that is going to be a disaster. Losing Garrett is less of an issue because we have Kitchens and Dooley who could move into OC role. On the current staff, only Bielema looks like a logical candidate to replace Graham unless Detroit fires Matt Patricia and Joe Judge hires him.
This. And our defense would have to start over too if Graham got lured away.
Garrett's HC experience and frankly successful record as a HC is going to get a bunch of teams interested.
I think they both stay. Garrett’s chances of being hired may be better because of his experience and if the prospective coaching pool is very shallow.
This sounds right.

I don't think that is far fetched. That franchise needs a guy who has been put through adversity, has experience and can develop a QB (whether thats Darnold or the next guy). Garrett doesn't seem like a lightening rod, isn't a blow hard and has won. If they want to go the young gun/new school route, which for the Jets would be more perilous, I think, then maybe they look at Graham.
Graham probably gets interviews, but he's probably another year away at least from getting an offer.

Welcome back, hadn't seen you in a while. Glad to see you posting.
Good point. Although if Daniels decides to leave New England, O'Brien would certainly be an instant contender to replace him.
I always thought Patricia was riding shotgun on that D to BB. So I never found him that intriguing.
we need these guys to be Dick Lebeau types.

Then I realized Jones would be on his 3rd OC in 2 years

Im not so sure about there being much of a gap btwn Graham's D this year and whatever the next DC will do. I mean, its not like Graham is running any exotic blitz packages or weird coverages from the backers. He has very much been a "keep it all in front of you, because my personnel is lame" coach with the occasional blitz in the 2nd half by Peppers or Ryan. I dont hate his D, but he is playing the epitome of bend but dont break.

That's funny. I heard the opposite last week. I forget who it was - may have been Greg Cosell - but they were crediting Graham for doing an excellent job disguising defenses, particularly in the secondary. And that was a key reason why the Giants D continues to improve...
Also to be reunited with Corey Ballentine.
