Rest of the schedule

superspynyg : 11/17/2020 2:51 pm
@Bengals
@Seahawks
Cards
Browns
@Baltimore
Cowboys

What do you think the final record will be?

Realistically I say 5-11
We will win vs the Cowboys and one of Browns or Bengals. We will lose against Seahawks, Cards and Baltimore. Possible to win both Bengals and Browns but that remains to be seen.

We have not won against a team with a winning record. That doesn’t mean I don’t think we won’t be competitive vs the good teams. We are not the same team we were in Sept. but until we beat a good team I will not say we are a good team. We are an improved team.

I'm at 6-10 with an outside shot at 7-9 if we pull off a win against Seattle or Baltimore.

I think we will get wins at Cincy, 1 of Cleveland/Arizona, and then Dallas.

ryanmkeane : 11/17/2020 2:56 pm : link
winning at Seattle sort of seemed like a pipe dream 4-5 weeks ago, but we are playing better, and their defense is really really bad. It'll be a game.
To hell with them all.
BlueManCrew : 11/17/2020 2:58 pm : link
Seahawks and Ravens both look beatable right now. Browns Bengals and Boys are going down. I say we go 5-1 down the stretch and finish at .500. Make the playoffs, create a little noise and be ready to become an NFC powerhouse next season.
We are still a poor to fair offense...
bw in dc : 11/17/2020 3:15 pm : link
And two of the teams we are playing have top ten defenses on a PPG basis - Baltimore and the Cards. So I am going to assume two losses there.

Traveling across the country to play Russell Wilson, despite Seattle's swiss cheese D and no fans, is still a daunting task. That's three losses.

So we are at ten.

Dallas at Met feels like a W. That's a revenge game whomever Dallas rolls out of their stable of horrible QBs.

Cincy felt like a loss two weeks ago. But that's 50/50. Give that another W.

Cleveland can really run the ball and their D is better than the stats. So that is a tougher case for a W. But it's a winnable game.

So it's either 6-10 or 5-11 with the Cleveland game tipping it either way.
3 and 3 is realistic.
section125 : 11/17/2020 3:17 pm : link
Despite a couple of wins in a row, this is still a talent challenged team.
Dallas, Cincy, Cleveland and maybe the Cards...

6-10 is my guess with a chance at 7-9, but possibly they falter to 5-11

6-10.
I'll Play

Wk 11 (3 - 7) Bye; Eagles at Browns L (3 - 6 - 1)
Wk 12 @Bengals W likely (4 - 7); Seahawks at Eagles L (3 - 7 - 1) Giants in 1st place !!!
Wk 13 @Seahawks L very likely (4 - 8); Eagles at Packers L (3 - 8 - 1)
Wk 14 Cards L very likely (4 - 9); Saints at Eagles L (3 - 9 - 1)
Wk 15 Browns ??? key game IMHO, let's say win (5 - 9); Saints at Eagles L (3 - 10 - 1)
Wk 16 @Baltimore L very likely (5 - 10); Eagles at Cowboys W (4 - 10 - 1)
Wk 17 Cowboys W likely (6 - 10);WFT at Eagles W (5 - 10 - 1)

Giants win the division IF they can beat the Browns.

that's what it is looking like ... if we stay healthy and get a little luck (at least no bad ref jobs)
I'd be relatively "OK" with 5-11,
Beezer : 11/17/2020 3:29 pm : link
but 6-10 or better sure would be nice.

I'm still cautiously optimistic, and beating the Eagles really went a long way.

Really feel like wins over Dallas, Cleveland and Cincy are very possible. Imagine a really good game plan leading to pulling off wins over one of the Ravens/Cardinals/Seahawks.

Trainmaster : 11/17/2020 3:32 pm : link
I don't see us beating Arizona. Yes the game is at MetLife and the Cardinals have to travel cross country, but we don't have any elite athletes on defense to combat Kyler Murray.

Graham will have to scheme his brains out and try to confuse Murray for the Giants to have a chance IMHO. And the running game has to click to try to win the time of possession game to keep the ball out of Murray's hands.

Bradberry may be able to keep Hopkins from having a big day, but I see passes to Larry Fitzgerald and scrambles from Murray eating us alive.

We need Dexter Lawrence to pancake Murray (legally) on the first series.

First team

on counting on a win against the Browns. They are 6-3. It's not exactly a gimme.
7-9
armstead98 : 11/17/2020 3:44 pm : link
All these teams are beatable.

Even the Seahawks and Ravens aren't playing well right now.
Ok, let's look a few things
jvm52106 : 11/17/2020 3:50 pm : link
1) We played the Rams, with our still struggling Oline and took them to the wire. The Rams just handled the Hawks pretty damn well. The Hawks cannot stop anyone. Their defense is putrid and the one major factor that has hurt us the most from opposing defenses is the pass rush. The Hawks are so bad there they traded for a washed up Carlos Dunlap. We can play with them.

2) The Cards, are the Hawks part 2. They cannot stop anyone from putting up points. The Cards and their diminutive QB come to US in early December. Weather could be a huge factor there. I like our chances.

3) The Ravens would be the stiffest test as their front line defense can be a problem for us. That being said, their team was just shut down by the Patriots and with Judge and Graham disciples of BB, I bet we have a very similar game plan for the Ravens. It will be a very tough game but, we can play with them.

4) The Bengals will be interesting because they do pose a passing threat with multiple good WR's and a young gun slinging QB. That being said, their Oline is hit and banged up and their defense is swiss cheese. This could be a game where there are way more points being scored than what will be predicted.

5) The Browns may be the toughest threat because they have become a ground and pound team. Our Dline will need to take control earlier and our Oline will need to be on its game or Myles Garrett will kill Jones.

6) The Boys, this is a revenge game and one where Dallas will pretty much be checked out at this point. I like our chances here big time.

I say we go 4-2 (Ravens and Hawks) and finish 7-9 and win the NFC EAST. I say we also win 1 playoff game as well.

A lot can and will happen these last 6 games (7 games for some) as COVID and Injuries will wreak havoc for some teams and games.

home against Arizona is absolutely a winnable game.
I could see Peppers
ryanmkeane : 11/17/2020 3:55 pm : link
spying Murray for the majority of that game. Cardinals have lucked out a few times this year. The Murray to Hopkins connection is great, but aside from that who scares you?

Drake, Kirk, Edmonds.
First things first...

Beat the Bengals after the bye. At that point, to get to 6 wins they need to only win 2 of the final 5. Obviously you're looking at (hopefully) splitting against ARI and CLE, then beating Dallas in the last game of the year.

Even the most optimistic fan would have to admit that winning in Seattle or Baltimore would be a longshot.
I could see 3 or 4 wins in there
LBH15 : 11/17/2020 4:32 pm : link
or possibly 6 losses.

I say screw it.....
Simms11 : 11/17/2020 4:36 pm : link
Anything can happen. If this team is improving and the lines play like they have been, and DJ is not turning it over, then we’ll be in every game with the chance at winning. Realistically however, I say we end up anywhere from 5-11 to 7-9. 7-9 would most likely give us the Division, with a big win over Dallas at the end, of course. I’m excited to see where we end up, but really like the attitude of taking each week one game at a time and going 1-0 each week.
We are going 8-8 and winning the division

If I was a betting man (and I'm not) I'd say 6-10.

But hot DAMN it is so GREAT to be playing meaningful games again in November.

Yes agree. It's so much easier relying on the other NFCE teams to get worse than waiting for Gettleman to make the Giants better.

:-)
I also wouldn't rule out

running the table or going 8-8, but I'm a little nutty, so who knows :)

First we need to beat Cincy. Lets beat someone besides Washington or Philly.

Take one from Arizona, Seattle, Cleveland or Baltimore. If we're improving like I think we are the we can take 2 of those games.

Then the final with Dallas is meaningful.

Hey 7 and 9 is not impossible!

The Cards are loaded with offensive talent.
6-10

I would love 7-9 but i realistically 3 of those 6 games they can win.
I've got a feeling 7-9

That was a relatively healthy Eagles team they just beat fairly soundly. If they stay healthy and avoid a Covid hit they should beat Dallas and Cincy and split the other 4 if they are truly on the upswing.

Bengals and Cards stick out as two games where our offense is going to need to lead us to victory.
I just want the Week 17 game vs. Dallas to be meaningful.
Big Blue Blogger : 11/19/2020 9:25 am : link
That requires matching the Eagles’ win total in weeks 11-16 (moderately hard, since they have an extra game and a comparable schedule) and not losing too much ground to Washington or Dallas (Seems likely, though they have softer schedules).

Washington matches up pretty well with Philly, and Alex Smith should be fully in sync by then, assuming he stays healthy. So needing a win plus an Eagle loss isn’t a terrible position. Obviously, I would rather the Giants controlled their fate.
