The Mets with new ownership look like a big market team with aspirations to be competing for a championship
The Yankees are the Yankees always competing for a championship
The Nets are one of the favorites to win the East
The Knicks land Leon Rose look like they finally have a plan and they may have found a core player in Obi
The Islanders are a very good team that will compete with the Rangers
The laggards are
The Jets who can start on the road towards relevance if they get Lawrence
The Devils have good talent they have been underachieving however they need to learn how to win close games
Optimistically 2020 could be the harbinger of good times for most of the New York sports teams
We have in fact in the longest title drought in NYC sports history. Giants 2011 are the last. We have never gone longer. Worse, it's a lack of overall winning let alone a title that has sunk this area to never before seen depths.
Things (NYG, NYK and NYM notably) do look better but it needs to come to fruition first. I'm a Yanks fan but I hope the Mets figure things out too.
Hockey is in good shape. MLB looks to be in good shape. Football is the big ? but the Giants appear to be on the upswing too. Fuck the stupid Jets.
