“I’m fired up about them,” Bill Parcells told Newsday from his home in Florida. “They’re getting better. They’re improving. I like their coach. I just know he has established some law and order, and I think that’s a good thing.” “Defense is improving,” he said. “That’s good coaching. They seem like they know what to do. They’re certainly behaving better and they’re getting more things done and they’re playing with confidence. That’s all good. I like what I’ve been seeing.” |
Remember that Colombo played for Parcells and credits Parcells for saving his career.
"I'll call the plays, you run them!"
May all Giant fans appreciate what we had and what we now have in these two men. BORN LEADERS!
Hell yeah.
I mostly agree with your statement, except the Tiki part. Tiki turned the last two years of his stay into the its all about Tiki show. The "retirement" show each week was a bit much and he wasn't exactly doing Manning any favors with his behavior.
Parcells is the man. Regardless of how he left he was the man that led this team to great heights and in an era of some very dominant teams, we were feared by many. Injuries kept us from maybe 4 titles in the late 80's.
Hell yeah.
But he also said , I like [Jones] athletically. That’s not a ringing endorsement on his passing skills . But he loves how he runs .
That’s the take I got from his comment .
Tiki's comments were ill-advised and ill-timed. He came across as trying to further his broadcasting career by providing direct insight into the locker room and broke player code for his own benefit.
I was very critical of Tiki for this but have moved. I think most fans have moved on and forgiven to some extent.

I never had bad feelings toward him. He was not well when he left, he had a heart attack and disagreements with George Young, shit happens, fans can go over the top, when you coach or play here and you were great, I tend to hold on to the good, same with Tiki, he was a great player for us, the hatred toward him is ridiculous, Eli was great through all that. Parcells coached our greatest era, and it was fun. Now hopefully Judge will lead us into another great era.

Exactly, Tiki acted like he was bigger than the team and then he got petty after the SB win without him
