Giants to win division bets/futures

Anybody else able to get any long shot plays in on us to win the division? Any thoughts about hedging so far, or future strategy? Or are you leaving the hedging to the gardeners..

I did put in $200 to win $3K before the season when we were at +1500 and then after we lost to the rams I was able to throw another $25 at +4000 (40/1) that pays out $1K. So in total $225 to win $4K. I regret not throwing more when we were at 40/1 but oh well, hoping for a nice New Years present.

Hedging wise, holding off for now but as the season goes on its something I may consider (probably last 2-3 weeks). Browns/Eagles this week seems like a critical game for the division, would really love to see the Eagles lose and continue their downward spiral. A win for the Eagles likely means the Giants will have to win 4 of their last 6, which would be a tough task (but I have faith!).

Eagles -130
Giants +260
WFT +650
Dallas +700

threw another 50 on them at 40-1. Was looking for an opportunity in there, but they never went past 25-1 again.

I know what the odds are, but not believer in hedging futures bets unless something changes to make me feel strongly. Haven’t seen anything to think we shouldn’t be favored. In fact I think after the Bengals week we will be. Lay a smack down on them and Eagles go 1-1 or worse and we’ll be in driver seat.

the right play IMO is to put $300 on the Eagles to win the division. I really don't see the Cowboys winning with their OL, QB, and D issues, and I don't see the Skins winning. Then you would likely get all the money you put in were the Eagles to win the division. It's too early in the season to hedge on a single game like that.

I personally wouldn't hedge though. You have $225 in. It's not like it's a huge amount of money. You made some good bets, and have a real good chance of making $4,000 off it. If it was say a SB bowl bet w/ 500-1 odds and Giants were in the playoffs, I would start hedging, but it wouldn't be worth it IMO to hedge an amount this small.

What if God forbid the Redksins or the Cowboys did win the division?

Your initial bet isn't huge and I would guess you will have a an opportunity to hedge later in the year either on individual games- most likely with Philly or division odds.

And hedging takes the fun out of the smart bets you placed. I know its good to lock in money- but I would let it ride right now.
