Three #Giants players tested positive for COVID-19 last night.
Makes it unlikely they’ll be available to play in Week 12, as 10 days from now puts them back (if all goes smoothly) the day after the game on Nov. 29.
...the team can't follow basic quarantine rules. Literally impossible with the amount of physical interaction the players have with one another, with trainers and staff.
A person in front office or management is one thing - players, coaches, trainers? Eesh.
If 3 have it, save bet that number jumps to 10 with the quickness.
the special teams was the origin of the outbreak, I'll bet it's the up-backs and gunners on special teams since they are closest to the kicker and punter.
Maybe I have that wrong, but it seems like this has been very inconsistent. Don't see why they wouldn't be able to play 10 days from now.
From PFT's article on Gmen:
The three new positives may have to miss the game based on when their test was taken as 10 days of isolation are typically required for players after a positive test.

What about the return guys, like Peppers and Lewis?

sure, they certainly have the most direct interaction too.
it's going to be hard for NFL players to avoid exposure and infection when the virus is kind of everywhere.
So far, as far as we know, no players have had their careers impacted long-term. But if enough guys get it, the odds are someone is going to get very sick and/or end up with lingering effects.

I mean, that's possible, but these are young men in terrific physical condition. Their chances of getting gravely ill from it are a good bit lower than the gen pop.
Could have been worse I suppose? Link - ( New Window )
Uh, let's wait and see if it spreads? Peart is a big hit, IMO.
Yeah obviously not ideal and still TBD on where else it spreads, but if you hear 3 players are going to be sidelined for 1 game and it turns out to be a backup OL, 2nd TE and #4/5 WR, it could have been much worse.
teams that can stay healthy are going to be in better shape.
Unfortunately, like I thought way back when, this season might boil down to luck, more than anything else. The best teams may not get the breaks, because of COVID.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for whoever it is, and safety for their families.

Gano already tested positive. It's three more.

Thought it was 3 days...

Did protocols change?
Did protocols change?
That is a good question. They have implemented their Intensive Covid Protocls now across the league due to the rising numbers.

Dixon and Kreiter are not among the 3 new positive tests, according to Schwartz.

Bad word choice for this thread :-)

I hope these players are OK, and secondarily hope the Giants can continue to play,.
prime suspect
Especially since he misses the first 1-2 weeks with a brand new position coach!
What game, we’re on bye? I’m sure everyone will be fine by next sunday
What? Six?
Gano, Peart, Smith, and Pettis. And the timing of Gano's test makes him likely to be able to play vs. the Bengals.

how many players need to get on the COVID list before the game is postponed?

Everyone testing positive today isn't eligible to return.
Yeh I'm seeing that now. Why the hell would you include the ones already over it. How is that pertinent to this at all?
Wonder if this is a run of bad tests?
Oh yeah, right.....

Really? That seems ridiculous
