Nobody knows how the team will react. Most people on here seem to think how great it is for Judge to assert himself. And, of course, maybe that is correct. On the other hand, maybe the OL guys like Colombo and will resent Judge.
The point is the people saying the love this are full of it and the People saying they hate this are full of it. Nobody knows the reaction of the team and how it will sit with them.
My personal opinion, from what has been reported (which is obviously leaked with a purpose to put each side in the best light possible), is that Colombo was being insubordinate of his role and Judge was right to fire him. Whether the players see it that way (and that is the only people who really matter) is something that we have not the slightest clue about.
Agree with your last two points about "if the OL was learning a ton from Colombo" and that Colombo saw himself getting shit canned and replaced by DD eventually, but the part about "if the OL loved Colombo he wouldn't have canned him" IMO is irrelevant.
IIRC, Mike Wauffle, the Giants well tenured and successful DL coach, was canned at least partly because he "got too close with" his players.
Liking the coach doesn't matter one bit in JJ's eyes I imagine. Learning from said coach does.
My 2 cents.
Who cares how they play on Sunday, as long as they are happy. I want to see HUGS with the coach on the sideline after they let someone through on 3rd down to sack Jones.

No, but these are human beings who form personal relationships and as long as the Giants keep winning (I can’t believe I just wrote thaf but we won 2 in a row!) all will be fine, but when teams lose players start opting out on the coach, especially if they feel like they did one of their coaches wrong. I am not saying that Judge did Colombo wrong. Everything I have read shows Judge was completely justified in terminating the poor performing, insubordinate Colombo. My only point is that my opinion doesn’t count and the only opinion that does is inside the Giants locker room and we have not the slightest clue how they feel.
