Discusses coaching change.

Judge gives these reporters so much more thoughtful

and detailed answers than they often deserve.

Surprise surprise, the resident bitch squad of Leonard, Lombardo and Raanan were digging for tidbits of gossip about Judge and trying several ways to get Judge to say something controversial about firing Colombo or the drama written about it.

He could have (and in my view should have) given them the Belichick treatment, but instead he calmly and respectfully answered every question
What happened to being a sports reporter?

I give Judge a ton of credit for handling their garbage questions with class. It's like a low budget TMZ show. These aren't football questions for the most part.

Now that is funny and so true
There was nothing wrong

with them looking for answers. It is what reporters are supposed to do. Judge handled it well and was politely forceful.

Although I did like "bitch squad" quip.
I thought this was a legitimate question

and I am not sure I am thrilled that Judge answered it so generally. I would have liked him to mention something more specific about Garrett personally since he was asked about him personally. For instance, Jason and I have a great working relationship (only because I guess I am concerned that Jones will have three coordinators in three years).

Q: I’m wondering how that affects, if at all, your relationship with Jason Garrett because obviously Jason and Marc are close and Jason obviously recommended Marc to you for the job. I’m wondering how you firing Marc affects you and Jason?

A: Look, we’re all professionals here. We all have one goal in improving the team. Obviously, we’ve been working through a season. There are a lot of new guys coming from different spots. We’re all New York Giants now. We’re all working towards the same goal. There have been no effects in that nature right there. I feel good about going forward with everybody.
It seems like most all questions look backward. I’d like to hear
Spider56 : 11/24/2020 8:56 am : link
questions on going forward ...like, What specifically does Duge bring to the OL that they need? What would you like to see more of in the play calling?
How are you and the team spending Thanksgiving? What do you expect from Ryan Finley next week? These guys aren’t sports reporters, they’re shit stirrers.

Damon Runyon is dead and Jerry Izenberg is retired.

I dont have problem with Judge's response. We have all recommended someone for a job who hasnt worked out. It sucks, and may alter some minor things, but professionals move forward. If Judge takes issue with Garrett it's going to be because of his offense, not because of his relationship with Marc.
How Many BBIers Opened This Thread...
Jim in Tampa : 11/24/2020 11:49 am : link
and clicked on the Judge presser link specifically to read or hear how Judge would respond to questions about the Columbo situation?

That's the only reason why I cheked out Judge's presser this week. (It certainly wasn't in the hopes that one of the beats would ask Judge about the challenges of facing Ryan Finley.)

If you opened this thread for the same reason, why complain about reporters doing their jobs by asking questions about Columbo?

A position coach was essentially fired in mid-season and there were runors that it was a heated confrontation between Columbo and Judge that may even have been physical. Were the reporters not supposed to even ask about that for fear of being labled "shit stirers" by the BBI crowd?

Judge is a big boy. He can handle a few tough questions. There's no need for you to protect him from those awful reporters who dare say mean things.

I guess some of us are different...I opened the Judge presser thread for the same reason I do every week, to hear an update about the team. Naturally, I expected him to deflect a couple questions about Colombo, and I also expected a couple of the twats who covered the team to keep asking annoying questions about it to try and create drama, and they didn’t disappoint

If the only reason you opened the thread was to see if there was more teenage drama, I’m glad reporters like Leonard and Colombo are around to create it for you.

Personally, I prefer reading questions about football, but that’s just me

When a HC fires a position coach mid-season and the two have at the very least, a heated confrontation during that process, it's not teenage drama to want to know what happened and why.

With the Giants on a BYE week, it is by far the hottest topic regarding this team. That's why reporters asked Judge questions about it in the presser...and it's also whey in the last seven days since the Judge/Columbo incident there have been 7 threads started about the topic and those threads combined for over 50,000 views.

And while you're patting yourself on the back for being some kind of football purist who only checked on Judges' presser to get an update on the team, it should be noted that you posted on 4 of the 7 Judge/Columbo threads this past week.

So it looks like you might have had more than a little interest in the topic as well.
I watched the presser

to hear about the Bengals. So i think i was probably the most disappointed
