I think our coaching staff has done an excellent job this year. But every unit from players to executives to coaches can always be improved.
It seems there there are about 5 teams that could terminate their head coaches after the season: Jets, Texans, Jaguars,
Lions, Falcons, with the latter two no given.
Any interesting coaches that stand out on those teams:
Jaguars: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Jacksonville_Jaguars_season
jets: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_New_York_Jets_season
Texans: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Houston_Texans_season
Lions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Detroit_Lions_season
Falcons: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Atlanta_Falcons_season
You can't possibly belieev that Garrett would pass up a HC slot to spend another year with Jones

too few openings, and one good season as a coordinator. I could see Garrett leaving, but I feel like his hire was probably predicated on at least 2 years given they want continuity with Jones.

Do we know whether Garrett wants ANOTHER HC job with all its headaches? Is it not possible/probable, that his life is much easier now and he’s enjoying being just an OC?

Unknown '56, but $3-$5 million per as HC vs $300k as OC is a big difference and I'm sure he loved being a HC. Yes the OC is less hectic and demanding of time.
Have to believe Garrett will be sought after. I think Eric Bieniemy will be the #1 sought after coach. Garrett probably right behind.

You could be right

A co-ordinator only makes $300G! I had no idea.
On the other hand, most feel this Giants D is playing well above it's talent level. That would imply Graham is doing a very good job putting players in a position to succeed. At this point, I fully expect Graham to get more HC interviews than JG.
I spent work related time in Houston a few years ago and was amazed at how much the locals hate the Cowboys ... If they hire the right GM, I could see them going after JG to try and stick it to Jerrah and the boys.
And for those who will say Mara and DG can't see past their noses - that may be but - you have to operate looking down the road. Doesn't mean your replacements will pan out but - you have to have a plan.
How does hiring a mediocre (at best) head coach "stick it to Jerrah and the boys"?

Yeah, I got that wrong, they are up to a million...living in the past...
Garrett may be a candidate for the NY Trevors.
Graham will certainly be a candidate somewhere.
Pick a current or former Patriot or Saban guy for their replacement if either leaves.
But if they do, will the Giants get two (3rd) picks?
So I see 6 potential HC openings at least.
Teams seldom hire coordinators from losing programs as their new HC.
But this thread is nothing more than wholly unfounded speculation.
Until we actually at least hear rumors of any of our coaches leaving, we have zero idea if any of our current staff needs replacing. And this team being AT BEST a 7-9 club, short of a playoff miracle the Giants' various ACs and coordinators are not going to be in high demand, probably not even in low demand.
Maybe DD is merely a stop gap for the OL, and JJ will need to find another OL AC. I wonder how much input Garrett will want on that decision, not much I suspect.
JJ won't look to replace Garrett, I'm willing to bet on that and give 2:1 odds. I'm wouldn't bet JJ has sole authority even to fire Garrett if he wanted to, given Garrett's previous Giants' connections.
Ive never understood why the success of a person as a coordinator makes that much difference when considering whether the guy can be a head coach. Is it is feather in their cap that they were good/great as a coordinator? Of course it is. But for me, a head coach should be a CEO type, able to hire the right coordinators/assistants, people you can rely on to do the job, then work with the GM to get the right type of players on the team, and basically "run things" on game day. Coaches calling plays always drives me nuts: thats what you hired your O and D coordinators to do, not your role anymore!
I think some of this is what the Giants saw in Judge, and he was not a coordinator. Look at the number of guys who were good to great coordinators who flamed out when doing the top job; take a special kind of person to fit that roll, and just because you can create a great offense or defense doesn't mean that you can fill all those other roles.
NOT saying that Graham wouldn't be a good selection, but if he is, it wont be because he put together a great defense only. He wont be running just a defense, he will be running a team; big difference.
Quinn runs 4-3 defense so I don’t think that he would be a good option as the Giants don’t have the personnel. It’s very difficult to find 4-3 DE’s and the Giants don’t have any on the roster.
