NFT: Home Office Desk Chair under 500?

So like most folks I'm working from home full time these days. I actually took a job working from home even before the pandemic and in my haste purchased the first "Decent" amazon desk chair I found. At first it seemed fine, but now I've come to notice that it's really uncomfortable and I should have researched more.

I've had my eyes set on the Autonomous Ergo Chair 2 for a while now. It's a little more than what I want to spend, but considering I'm using it every day I might go for it. I'm still researching what's out there and I wanted to get feedback from my fellow WFH giants fans.

What say you?

I’d take a look at the Knoll ReGeneration. You’ll probably be able to get close to that price this weekend.

Check facebook marketplace or craigslist. No doubt plenty businesses that are transitioning to WFH will liquidate office supplies including commercial quality stuff like Steelcase office chairs. These things are arguably among the best for both longterm comfort and sturdiness. You can get them at a massive discount vs new and they are built much better quality-wise than most chairs from Amazon.

On your choice.....not nearly enough back support.....unless you are very thin......

I would stay within the major corporate interiors manufacturers....

If you give me some idea...of what you do? Some physical dimensions.....i can offer some options

Piggybacking on this...I'm looking for an ergonomic solution here.

I stand all day as I use a standing desk, but I'd like the option to sit occasionaly, especially as I wake up. It seems impossible to make a decision and I can't believe how much some of these god damn chairs cost.

I feel a little light on lower back....any all mesh chairs are light on lower back....just make sure you add all the lumbar supports available.

Standing height....all the decent chair come in stool height.

Keep in mind floor surface....hard floor needs soft caster and carpeted floors need hard casters.

Steelcase chairs in low quantities get expensive....a few months ago....i put in a bundled ordered for a bunch of friends.

I'm 6'3, so I bought the Titan in amber. I love it. It's very well constructed and I can sit in it for hours with no back problems.

You go to the store and try them on. I'd start with chairs that have padded arm rests, unlike the one in the picture.

I use an old fashioned wooden chair with a small amount of cushioning on it. Got it for $5 years ago at a ding and dent sale. I have been using it since March. The chair I use for my non work PC is similar but is from the 1920s. I have a bad back and these seem to support it good for me.

I can't give a review yet other than the fact that it got good reviews

from others. I haven't put it together yet but my company paid for it and it's cheaper than the chair you linked. When I'll put it together I'll let you know what I think.
